PATENTS AND PUBLICATIONS

o DIGITAL SYNTHESIS OF DOPPLER CARRIER FREQUENCY IP.com Disclosure Number: IPCOM000224923D Publication Date: 11-Jan- 2013 The present invention discloses a digital technique of synthesizing stable frequency for Doppler carrier and demodulation applications. The technique uses low cost, less accurate and less stable crystal with digital synthesizer for generating flexible, stable and accurate carrier frequency for transmission and demodulation in Doppler Effect technology. Digital synthesis involves adjusting input frequency from the crystal by multiplication and division factor with respect to input frequency to provide a stable output frequency of limited range. Phase Frequency Detection (PFD), Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) and lock indicator are used to correct the output frequency. o DIRECT DIGITAL SYNTHESIS BASED ULTRASOUND DOPPLER TRANSDUCER IP.com Disclosure Number: IPCOM000224998D Publication Date: 18-Jan- 2013 The present invention discloses an ultrasound Doppler transducer based on Direct Digital Synthesizer (DDS). The transmitter described herein generates transmission burst and output with very accurate frequency and amplitude with good resolution. Circuit of DDS includes an NCO and a phase modulator, sine look up table, digital to analogue converter (DAC). The output DAC reference voltage is controlled by means of another DAC and the Vref of the final DAC can be varied which in turn changes the final amplitude. Amplitude of transmission burst remains constant with any transducer. NCO may be synthesized and implemented in a field programmable gate array (FPGA) along with user logic and timing control.

o DETECTING STRIP CHART RECORDER PAPER STATUS IN PATIENT MONITORS IP.com Disclosure Number: IPCOM000224906D Publication Date: 10-Jan- 2013 The invention discloses a technique for detecting number of sheets remaining in strip chart paper recorder and reading the strip chart serial number for patient monitors. Patient monitors such as, ECG machines use sheets of paper to plot maternal parameters, fetal parameters and ECG waveforms. The technique uses load cell technology and weight sensors to detect number of sheets remaining Sheet serial numbers are represented using one dimensional barcodes, two dimensional barcodes, Hollerith cards and Braille numbers and are decoded by photodiodes and CCD cameras.
