Indian Creek Dr. Clarkston, GA 30021 404/297-9522 Ext. 1190 FAX# 404/298-3601 POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT POSITION: JOB DEVELOPER (FULL-TIME) PRIMARY LOCATION: Newton and Morgan Counties DESCRIPTION: Responsible for developing, locating, and securing job openings for individuals in Newton and Morgan counties participating in the Georgia Piedmont Advantage for Adult Education, an accelerated learning program. Participants in this program are co-enrolled in the college, working towards the GED and an academic credential at the same time. Specifically, the incumbent will engage with employers in the target counties to develop internship and employment opportunities for youth ages 16-24 that successfully complete the program. The successfully candidate will be responsible for ensuring that students make a smooth and successful transition from college to work. ESSENTIAL JOB 1. Initiates and maintains ongoing personal contacts with a variety of business and RESPONSIBILITIES: industry representatives to promote program for participant placement; 2. Makes cold calls to potential employers; explains the benefits and employment support services provided by the program to employers, including addressing employer’s special needs; 3. Researches Internet, newspapers, agencies, and other resources for job leads; 4. Locates jobs for participants who have successfully completed program; 5. Collects data from employers related to job orders including job requirements and skills; matches job skills with applicant qualifications; refers qualified applicants to employers; 6. Conducts necessary follow-up when applicants are placed in positions 7. Keeps updated information regarding job fairs and Internet resources; 8. Participates in outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating and attend job fairs; 9. Work closely with Career Counselor to ensure that student’s performance and employer’s requirements are aligned thus leading to job success; 10. Assists participants in assessing their job skills for positions; 11. Gathers accurate and complete information in order to effectively provide service to students; 12. Assists, as needed, with job counseling with students to identify their abilities, needs, interests, and values in related to job and career opportunities. Critiques job search contacts, resume and work search plan to identify and resolve possible barriers to employment; 13. Effectively communicates employer needs to students; 14. Participates as requested in college sponsored events; 15. Assists in the orientation process for new students; 16. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university *and* two (2) years of experience in employment counseling.

SALARY/BENEFITS: The salary range is $35,000 to $40,000 and is determined by education, experience and other qualifications. This is a full-time position with paid state holidays, accrued annual and sick leave and the State of Georgia Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
