COURSE DESCRIPTION, NO MORE THAN 3 LINES: Writing for Nonprofits engages students in the study and practice of professional writing activities with local nonprofit organizations. Students receive Academic Service-Learning credit by working with a local nonprofit organization for at least two hours each week; they become familiar with the kinds of writing necessary to supporting nonprofit organizations and the various rhetorical circumstances that shape organizations working and writing for social change, as well as research a specific community issue or problem related to their partnering organization.
