Post Title: Promotions Agent Hours of Work: 30 per week, flexible Salary: £18,000 (pro-rata) plus business related travel expenses Department: Lottery & Promotions Reports to / Line Manager: Promotions Manager

Would you like to use your sales skills to make a real difference in changing local people’s lives? Due to retirement we are looking to appoint an experienced sales professional to promote our well established Lottery. The role does not involve hard sell tactics. We encourage subscriptions to a low cost weekly draw. The ideal candidate would have previous fundraising &/or canvassing experience. Purpose of Job

To increase the long-term membership of the St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice Lottery & support other promotional departmental activities.

Main responsibilities

 To encourage people to sign up to long term Hospice lottery membership, via door- to-door residential canvassing across the catchment area.

 To proactively work with the Corporate Partnership Manager to market the Hospice lottery to appropriate businesses in the catchment area.

 To work consistently to achieve or exceed the agreed weekly targets.

 To keep clear, accurate records & to return all completed new members paperwork, payments & any donations to the lottery office at the agreed regular timescales.

 To improve upon the scale of commitment utilised by lottery members, in order to maximise potential value to the Hospice, whilst reducing administrative costs. This relates to Direct Debit & Debit card sign ups, which are a key focus.

 With the guidance of the Promotions Manager, work in accordance with Gambling Commission regulations & Hospice policies.

 Provide regular feedback to, & work closely with the Promotions Manager to identify any additional income opportunities.  In consultation with the Promotions Manager assist with overall lottery collections & twice yearly Super Draw campaigns as & when required. To attend events to recruit new members &/or sell tickets as appropriate.

 To work flexibly to effectively deliver the role & to meet the needs of the hospice.

 To actively try to collect new members email data capture at all opportunities.

 To undertake any reasonable duties that may be appropriate in order to help the lottery department achieve its departmental income objectives.

 To assist in promoting all lottery products where necessary this list may include door-to-door leafleting, assistance with raffles & promotional events as well as scratch card or other initiatives.

 To attend statutory training in accordance with hospice requirements.

 To participate in an annual development & review process.

 To communicate sensitively & maintain the excellent reputation of the Hospice; to promote the Hospice Lottery, with confidence, in a non-pressurised manner.

 To work in harmony & be mutually supportive with colleagues in the Lottery Office Team & teams across the hospice.

Additional Information:

 Full driving licence & use of own car is essential (A business mileage allowance will be paid).  To ensure good verbal & effective written communication skills are maintained.  To work on own initiative, but act as a key member of the lottery team.  The ability to work to weekly targets & deadlines.  To be physically able to undertake the role, including standing or walking for long periods of time, on a daily basis.  There will be a need to work unsociable hours including evenings & weekends in order to meet the needs of this role.  The job involves walking door-to-door in all weather conditions & in the dark during the winter months.
