OPERATIONS

Coaches,

Idaho Youth Soccer, which is our governing body, recently joined with Gotsoccer as their registration platform. This will help them expedite coaching background checks and link coaches to the newly required “Heads Up” online concussion course. Every coach must register, submit info for background check and complete the concussion course before they will be cleared to coach.

This is a three step process:

1. Create your user profile (or log into existing profile): o You will go to www.idahorush.com. Click on the program. o In the “quick links” down the right hand side of the program page you should see an option for Coach registration. o As a new “GotSoccer” member you will need to create a “new user” account. WRITE DOWN YOUR USER NAME AND PASSWORD TO USE FOR FUTURE REGISTRATIONS. o NOTE: If you previously created a user profile in GotSoccer, please use the same account log in credentials and proceed to step 2. 2. Background check o Go to www.gotsoccer.com and click on log in the upper right hand corner. o Choose the "Teams & Team Officials" and "log in" as individual coach. o Use the user name and password from your profile. o In the gotsoccer toolbar, click on “background check” and submit new (If your background check is still current you will see your information and an expiration date) o Complete all questions, electronic signature and submit.

3. CDC “Heads Up” concussion course (If not already logged into gotsoccer) o Go to www.gotsoccer.com and click on log in the upper right hand corner. o Choose the "Teams & Team Officials" and "log in" as individual coach. o Use the user name and password from your profile. o Allow 30 minutes to complete the online course. You cannot log out and go back to pick up where you left off. It must be completed in one session. o In the GotSoccer toolbar, click on the concussion center and look for the Heads Up Concussion course (DO NOT DO THE IMPACT TEST). Only the Heads up will clear you with the state. o Complete the Heads Up course and print out the certificate of completion at the end. Save for your records.
