The Dexter Carter 35 Foundation (DC35F) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) tax exempt corporation. (DC35F) Vision is to increase the quality of life of children living in despair. Usually despair leads to poverty and little hope of reaching one's Goals or Dreams. Our goal is to help children living in despair and poverty develop Hope, Trust, Confidence, Self-Reliance and Social Responsibility. The DC35F Mission is Making Hopes and Dreams a Reality by supporting and/or providing educational programs, academic resources, fine arts programs, athletic programs, social & vocational programs and Health & Wellness education. All of the mentioned components are relevant to Making Hopes and Dreams a Reality for youth. Literacy, food, health and standard housing are other key components to a child increasing his/her chances at avoiding or discontinuing despair and poverty, bullying, crime and low self-esteem. DC35F will work and assist other great non-profit organizations and for profit organizations that have youth initiatives that embody our Vision and Mission for youth. Cradle to Career Imagine if we were able to achieve this vision: Supporting the success of every “at risk” child from cradle to career. The impact would be tremendous. “At risk” children would thrive. A sense of Hope, Trust and Confidence would emerge in long struggling neighborhoods, communities, and regions. And our economy would improve as a more skilled workforce feeds innovation and growth.

To achieve this vision, we need to see education as a journey that is much more inclusive than what happens in the school alone. Education is a lifelong experience that begins well before a child ever sets foot in a classroom and continues long past a cap-and-gown commencement.

Roadmap to Success

DC35Foundation Star Student Roadmap to Success plots a personalized course of a student’s journey from cradle to career, with plenty of signposts along the way. This dynamic map is not just a guide for the student, but for all members of the community with interest in seeing that “at risk” students have successful journeys. It highlights specific research-based competencies and experiences, as well as key transition points where we must ensure students are on target developmentally – reading, writing, speaking and math. If they are not at these critical points, we know the potential for long-term success is greatly inhibited. This program is prepared using the best cognitive and analytical technologies including those from IBM Watson or similar tools. Our Vision Realized

 Increase the quality of life of at-risk youth

 Make Hopes, Trust and Confidence a reality in their life

 Students learn the importance of Social Responsibility

 Schools and program operators can have adequate funding for effective execution of personalized programs for at risk students

Objectives of DC35F include:

 Inspire pro-social trusting relationships, strong interpersonal skills, self-confidence, and a sense of hope for the future.

 Challenge and empower youth to establish goals and the discipline to follow through.

 Expand and provide a positive perspective to make them aware of not only the possibilities but the realization of what can be achieved.

 Provide a nurturing, caring, inclusive learning environment with a support system, a family home and environment that supports change.

Dexter’s Story

Dexter Carter is the Founder and Chairman of Dexter Carter 35 Foundation. This foundation is his passion and is based upon personal life experiences along with acute understanding of the issues at risk and underprivileged youths face. Dexter grew up in a low income household in southern Georgia where he struggled with hardship and despair. Through hardwork, supportive mentors, sports, a loving and supportive mother and a strong belief in his possibilities, Dexter was able to overcome his challenges and earn the opportunity to attend Florida State University on a football scholarship. Again he had to overcome both academic challenges as well as the physical and mental challenges associates with climbing the ladder of athletic and academic success. Dexter was able to overcome these challenges again and again based on the same winning formula. The fulfillment of his athletic goals were recognized when he was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round. He went on to have a successful 7 year NFL career including winning a Super Bowl ring. He also earned not only a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, but also a Master’s degree in Business Management. Dexter's lifelong dream has always been to help all youth reach their goals, but especially at risk and underprivileged children and families to not only hope and believe that their future is brighter than their current circumstances, but they have a direct impact on that change. DC35F will guide them through the process. DC35F is there to provide the support, resources and programs to help bring their HOPE and Dreams to Reality. DC35F ask you to join us to change the world one student, family and community at a time.

We are very ambitious in our endeavor because we understand the importance of this mission. DC35F look forward to joining other great foundations and charities doing great work and we will work side by side with many to make a great impact in the community. We will officially launch the DC35F on July 30th in my hometown of Baxley Georgia with the Dexter Carter 35 Foundation “Free” Football and Life Skills Development Camp. We will have a celebrity flag football game Friday night as former college and NFL friends join me for a fun and entertaining evening for the community. Saturday, the camp starts with 1st-3rd grade and 4th-6th grade in the morning and 7th-12th in the afternoon. At lunch time, DC35F will utilize this time to have speakers that will focus on academics, college, bullying, health and wellness, social responsibility and other life skill develop topics. After the conclusion of the camp, there will be a Semi Professional football game at the high school for the community. The Augusta Ducks will face off against the Jax X-Men from Jacksonville Florida. Events Friday and Saturday night will have an entrance fee of $5. Seventy percent of all funds raised during these events will be dispersed equally go to the High School, Middle School and Recreation Department for their football programs. We will also honor former head football coach John Stephens at halftime of the Saturday football game with a plague for his service to Appling County Pirate football program and the young men he and his staff positively impacted. All online pre-registered youth will receive back to school backpack giveaways at the camp. Although this camp is free to all youth, I ask for any donations and sponsorships that will assist in all facets of the camp from T-shirts, backpacks, school supplies, food, beverage, water, ice, food, awards, marketing, camp brochure, footballs, camp equipment, photographer, PA/speaker system rental, EMS/Trainer, Security, Site Fee (covered under 70% of gate for game), field preparation, insurance, tent/chair/table rentals, administrative/registration supplies and coaching stipends for coaches taking the time to visit Baxley to support my efforts for my hometown. DC35F will accept any amounts of donations or donation of items, food and beverages. The budget for the event is $15,000. I wanted to have the launch of my Foundation in my hometown to bring recognition to this great South Georgia football town. I hope and believe that Baxley will be positively impacted by the weekend’s events. The event is being promoted throughout the region and volunteers and regional coaches from pop warner, middle schools and high schools are encouraged to go to the foundation website and register as a volunteer or coach.
