1Aims and Objectives (Article IV of the 'Articles of Incorporation') The general purposes for which the Society is formed are as follows: (i) To promote Vedic and ancient Indian studies in all its forms and in all countries; (ii) To conduct multidisciplinary activities for research and study of Vedic and ancient Indian traditions including its history, philosophy, science, psychology, literature, scriptures, linguistics, archaeology, and so on. (iii) To support researches and studies in various Vedic sub-specialties such as chronology, rituals, philology, astronomy, yoga, Ayurveda, classical religious works (Vedas, Puranas, Epics, Shastras, Smrities, etc.), Sanskrit and other Indic languages, linguistics, and contemporary works; (iv) To encourage research in developing all aspects of Vedic and ancient Indian traditions; (v) To promote universal, intellectual, ethical traditions enshrined in Vedas and other works of ancient Indian origin. 2Activities This Society, for furtherance of its aims and objectives, will undertake to do the following: To organize activities (such as conferences, discussion groups, workshops, lectures, camps, concerts, performances), sponsor, promote, establish, develop, control, supervise, support, encourage and run institutions (such as centers, schools, reference libraries), and publishing (such as journals, monographs, periodicals, books, magazines, papers etc.) for dissemination of knowledge and findings on Vedic and ancient Indian traditions.

*Introduction: Those who participated in the Conference held in Atlanta, October 4-6, 1996, need no 'introduction' for enrolling themselves as Founding Members in 1997. To become an Ordinary Member (for life or otherwise), an individual will formally apply on this application form , enclosing the membership subscription. Introduction is required by two individual members, or by one of the Directors, office bearers/members of the 'Governing Council', Regional Vice Presidents, or Chair of a 'Standing Committee'.
