TASK/DIRECTIONS: 1. Work collaboratively on this state assignment. 2. Each state will create one PowerPoint 3. Each student will receive an individual grade based on his/her portion of the PowerPoint. 4. Define these three American ideals in your own words. 5. You will be assigned either the ideal of equalty, democracy, or opportunity. 6. Identify an event that was studied during the course of the year that demonstrates your chosen ideal. a. Provide background information on the event. b. Explain the connection this event has to your chosen ideal. c. Each student must have a different curriculum event. 7. Identify a modern event that demonstrates your chosen ideal (within the past 365 days). a. Find a newspaper article related to your chosen ideal and print it off. b. Provide background information on the event. c. Explain the connection this event has to your chosen ideal. d. Each student must have a different article. 8. Create a PowerPoint including (1 homepage, 1 concluding page, plus one page for each person in the group): a. Homepage – Include the 3 ideals definitions, your assigned ideal (equalty, democracy, or opportunity) b. Individual Student pages – Include your past and current event as well as descriptions. 9. Presenting your PowerPoint a. Each state will present their PowerPoint to the class b. Each state will explain the homepage to the class c. Each soldier must then explain his/her own page of the PowerPoint d. You will be competing against the state in the other army that has your same ideal e. Project will be graded in class during the presentation Helpful Hints for Project . All groups will be given no more than 10 minutes to present the PowerPoint. . All groups must provide an introduction that presents the Homepage and introduces the ideal. . Transition into the individual ideal pages. . Each individual should use the 10 selected words to 1.
