Agenda Thursday, April 16 Opening Ask students to share their plans/goals for after graduation from GKHS next school year.  Are they planning to go to college? If so, where?  Are they planning to join the military? If so, what branch?  Are they planning to begin an apprenticeship? If so, what?  Are they planning to work? If so, what job? CareerCruising.com  Remind students that CareerCruising.com is an excellent place for them to find information about careers, military options, and colleges/universities.  Hand out the CareerCrusing.com Information page and go over this information with students.  If you are able, log on to CareerCruising.com and show students the different tabs listed on the CareerCruising.com Information page. o Look at some of the colleges students are interested in attending. o Look at some military information. o Look at some of the employment information.

Friday, April 17 Post High School Transition Plans Filling out these forms will help students determine what they still need to do this spring, summer, and fall in order to reach their goals for after graduation.  You will find two different NCR Post High School Transition Forms in your supplies. o One form is for students who will be going to a 2 or 4-year college after high school. o One form is for students going into the military, apprenticeships, or employment after high school.  Ask students what their plans are for after graduation and give them the appropriate Post High School Transition Form. o Most students will only need one form. o A few students may need both forms.  Information needed to complete this form may be found online at CareerCruising.com (as listed on the CareerCruising.com Information page they received yesterday), other websites, or the GK Career Center.  Completed Post High School Transition Forms are due April 24.  Once completed, the WHITE copy should be placed in the CAREER Section of the portfolio.  Please send the YELLOW copy to the Counseling Center. Counselors use the information on these forms to nominate students for scholarships and to help students with post high school planning.  Please send all unused forms back to the Counseling Center.
