5 Places to Party Across the Country

If you’re like me (and countless other college and university students), summer will have you daydreaming about hot, sunny days, and warm, party- filled nights. Unfortunately, student bank accounts limit a lot of people from seeking these adventures on a global scale. Luckily, the states offer their fair share of summer party destinations.

1) Black Rock Desert, Nevada The internationally- renowned Burning Man Festival has earned this destination a pretty crazy reputation. During Labor Day weekend (and the whole week leading up to it), the desert is filled celebrations, ending in a grand finale where a 40- foot tall wooden man (known as “the man”) is set fire and burnt to the ground. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime party in the desert you can’t miss.

2) Chicago, Illinois In addition to the Windy City’s year- long nightlife attractions including tons of jazz and blues clubs, there are fun things to do in the city when the summer heats things up when the whole city comes alive for baseball fans when the Cubs and White Sox face off. Hitting up the seasonal events like the Ravinia Festival- the oldest outdoor music festival in the country, is also something you can’t miss. Its held from June all the way through to September, so check out the schedule to plan your appearance!

3) Miami, Florida Miami is the perfect place for student travel to hit up the beach scene all summer long. South beach has a ton of cool clubs like Liv and Sobe Live. Plus, during the day, you can learn to surf at the South Beach Surf School.

4) Provincetown, New England Provincetown is another beach location, but it’s got a completely different vibe. Its one of the country’s oldest art colonies and you can spend day combing the protected beaches either by foot or by boat. Either way, make sure not to miss the Tea Dance at Boatslip Resort for the city’s biggest dance parties.

5) San Francisco, California Definitely one of the places to see before you die, this colourful city has something for everyone from artsy lounges to electric clubs. Between the nightlife, the art and the famous Golden Gate Bridge, you just might actually be in danger of leaving your heart in San Francisco.
