Position Available: Motivational Tour Speaker 2010/2011

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver an exceptional presentation and motivational speech

• Chair unique and inspiring leadership workshops pertaining to social action across diverse audiences

• Facilitate and foster leadership during your workshops. Workshops range from one, two or even four hours in duration

• Research current local and global issues

• Contribute to the strategic development of campaigns and overall programme objectives including its administration

• Arrange transportation and navigation in a variety of communities across the United Kingdom

• Prepare and distribute materials (promotional, program, youth resources, and other)

• Assist with monitoring and evaluation procedures to measure tour impact

• Be willing to assist with a range of administrative tasks as necessary

• Assist with the logistics, marketing and coordination of outreach activities

• Manage the scheduling and planning of outreach programmes across educational boards in the United Kingdom

• Support various other projects ensuring the broader outreach of the team

• Represent Free The Children at conferences, events, workshops and forums Qualifications and Experience:

• Dynamic speaking and facilitation abilities including the capability of interacting effectively across a diverse range of audiences

• Experience teaching in the formal education system is an asset

• A passionate interest in social justice issues

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities within tight deadlines

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Positive, flexible and enthusiastic

• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team and to contribute to the development of programme initiatives

• Charisma when working with youth and a passion for youth leadership

• Marketing and media skills an asset

• Travel within the UK will be necessary so you must possess a valid driver’s license

• There will be a requirement for some out of hours and weekend work

• Working knowledge of two or more languages an asset

• Experience in the creative arts such as writing, playing or performing is an asset

• Travel experience an asset
