Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance:

Andreea Sovaiala began the meeting with an invocation regarding the American Olympics and Gold Medals.

Business Meeting:

 Roslyn Dodell (President Protem) led the business meeting in Eric Holtzclaw’s absence  Officer Reports and Old Business – Dave Brookmire (Treasurer) reminded us all that dues are due and make our checks out to The President’s Club  Roslyn Dodell, VP of Education, informed us that we have an educational meeting planned for August 29th and it will be held at Lisa Goodman’s office (directions to follow via email). Susan McMullen, Jim Dawson and Tom Nixon will be leading the session  Judi Rogers reminded all us of the District Contest taking place at the Cobb EMC in Marietta on Saturday, August 25th. Please come and support Sandy W. Carmen as she competes in the Evaluation contest. Unfortunately our Humorous Speech contestant, Rob McGoldrick, will not be able to participate in the District Contest. Judi also reminded us that she needs a volunteer to serve as a timer for the contest.  Jim Dawson suggested the club research the prices of a video camera with a memory card and a laviler microphone – it was tabled that Jim would research the prices and the executive committee would discuss this at the next officer meeting. Jim reported that he conducted his research and the camera should cost somewhere between $400 - $500.  Jim Dawson reported that the Scuba Trip held on August 4th was great and a good time was had by all.  Jim Dawson again suggested our club write a letter to the TM District regarding the contest deadlines. He made a motion that the club secretary, Charlene Anderson, draft the letter for approval by the club. Motion seconded and carried.  New Business – DJ suggested we forego Table Topics since our meeting started late so that we could possibly end on time. Motion seconded and carried.
