Speaker’s Bio – Curriculum Vitae

Felix P. Nater, CSC, President of Nater Associates, Ltd. an independent security management consulting firm is a Certified Security Consultant, as awarded by the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC). He is a retired Postal Inspector with over 30 years of criminal, security & program management experience & expertise. Felix has held a variety of increasing challenging assignments & positions at the local, regional and national levels of the Postal Inspection Service that included program manager for public information and training, threat management coordinator, firearms instructor and defense tactic instructor.

As a Workplace Violence Interdiction Specialist for the NY Division, Felix was assigned to the Queens and Long Island, New York Postal Districts, responsible for providing violence prevention response, incident management and conducting threat assessments & criminal investigations. Felix consulted with senior postal management in rendering safety & security risk abatement recommendations, testified at Arbitration, EEOC, and Merit Systems Protection Board Hearings & civil & criminal court proceedings.

As the Chief Security Consultant at Nater Associates, Ltd. Felix has spent the last 15 helping organization implement and manage workplace security in support of workplace violence prevention & violence response. His consulting and training Violence Interdiction Model ™ is based on creating a Robust, Agile and Proactive (RAP) organizational response through integration, collaboration, coordination of resources and effort, communication and leadership. He applies a holistic approach to applying massive common sense in addressing a complex issue.

Felix has developed a reputation as a trusted authority on workplace violence prevention and a consultant who understands the issues & focuses the client’s resources and efforts on maximizing their commitment and investment in preventing and managing the potential homicidal threat by the disgruntled current and former employee and the domestic violence/intimate partner violence workplace spillover.

Felix has consulted with manufacturing, processing, production, litigation, financial, pharmaceutical, educational and management organizations. He has designed and delivered a variety of training programs in support of

Nater Associates, Ltd. www.naterassociates.com Workplace Violence Prevention, Violence Response including developing Active Shooter/Hostile Intruder Plans and Procedures and leadership content for supervisors and collaborated with a national organization in developing a workplace violence prevention training program for security officers.

Felix is a current member and past Board Member of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants, immediate past President & current Board Member of the Carolinas Chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants. He also served on the Board of Advisors of the Homeland Intelligence Technologies, the Franklin Medical Center Community Advisory Board, the Ronald McDonald House Community Board, NY, the Nassau County Police Explorer’s Council, past President of the North East Chapter of the Association of Threat Assessment Professional, past Chair of the New York City Area Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve & past President of the Greater New York City Chapter of the Association of the United States Army.

Felix’s civilian awards & recognition includes: Recipient of the 2009 60 Years Old over & School - Business Partnership Award, Long Island, New York, Nominated as the 2007 Best Associate Member Small Business of the Year, New York Chapter of the International Facility Manager’s Association, Received 1st Place Honors in the 2005 Workforce Builders Leadership Award in the Small Business Category, Long Island Works Coalition and served as an Affiliated Instructor at Hofstra University. He has published articles in nationally recognized publications and is a contributing author.

As a Sergeant Major, Felix served in every leadership position from Sergeant to include Command Sergeant Major at battalion, group, brigade & regional support command, retiring as the Command Sergeant Major of a major Army Reserve Command. His clients include small, medium and large corporate, private and government organizations.
