VENUE The Conference will take place at the Hotel Meliá Castilla, Capitán Haya Street, 43. Madrid.

ACCOMODATION Each delegation will take care of its accommodation costs. The rooms have been blocked for the 28th of February and the 1st and 2nd of March at the Hotel where the Conference is due to be held and at the NH Práctico Hotel. Suites will be blocked under request of the Delegations. See the hotels listed below:

Price: Double room, individual use/ per night at Hotel Meliá Castilla, breakfast included: 169 euros plus 7% Vat. Price: Double room, individual use/per night at Hotel NH Práctico, breakfast included: 105 euros plus 7% Vat.

LANGUAGES

Translation will be provided in Spanish, English and French. TRANSFERS FROM THE AIRPORT

The Protocol department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation will be in charge of the transfer from and to the airport of the Ministers, Deputy Ministers or Secretaries of State attending the Conference. They will have access to the State Hall, together with the rest of the delegation traveling in the same flight.

ACCREDITATION Credentials can be collected from the Protocol Department of the MAEC ( Plaza de la Provincia, 1) on February 28th and at the Hotel Meliá Castilla on March 1st before the start of the Conference. Credentials are personal and non-transferable and admission to the Conference venue is only allowed with a valid badge.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Subway The better choice is to take the subway at Barajas station (line 8) that goes from the airport ( there is a subway stop at the national T2) to Mar de Cristal station. Commuters have to take line 10 or line 1 straight to the hotel stations.

There is a train every 5 minutes and the metro ticket is 1 €

- Bus The line number 200 goes from the airport ( Terminals 1 and ) to Avenida de America station. The price of the ticket is 1 €

- Connection between terminals Terminals T1, T2 and T3 are connected by halls of conveyor belts. The new Terminal T4 is connected to T4S (Satellite Terminal 4) by subway train. There is a free bus service that connects every terminal and the long distance parking.

- Taxi Taxi from Barajas airport costs approximately 35 €

Climate The average temperature in Madrid is around 15 and 18 ºC in March.

Electricity The voltage in Spain is 220V, 50 Hz. Plugs are of two-pin continental European standard.

Currency The Spanish currency is the Euro (€/EUR). For rates of exchange see http://www.bde.es/tipos/tiposc.htm. Most Spanish hotels, restaurants, car rental companies, department stores, petrol stations, taxis, etc. accept all the major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). Time Spain follows the Western European Time, WET, which is one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
