Newsletter 34: Value of the Month: Tolerance

Olympic Torch James Stephenson from the Redbourne School Sports Partnership came into school today with one of the 2012 Olympic Torches much to the delight of all the children. Ella and Conner ran round the sports field holding the torch, then each class followed them round the field.

Year 3 Values Celebration Event Last week our year 3 children together with the oldest boy and girl from year 2 spent a wonderful sunny day in the grounds of West Park taking part in a Values Celebration event. The event was run by four of Central Bedfordshire’s values-based middle schools and was attended by many other lower schools in Bedfordshire.

The children took part in workshops covering the values of Appreciation, Empathy, Co-operation and Unity. The children not only had a wonderful time but learnt a great deal during the day. Thank you to Mrs Liderth for accompanying the children and members of staff to Wrest Park.

Early Years Thank you to all the dads who attended the Fathers' Day Tea Party. The children enjoyed the fun afternoon. Thank you also for bringing in the photographs for the display. We hope you have had a chance to view the wonderful paintings that the children have done. The display is really colourful.

The transition activity has gone really well again this week. The children have enjoyed lunchtime in the hall followed by venturing off happily to find new friends and their siblings at playtime. Next week is P.E. so please can you make sure the children have their kits with them on their allocated day. A reminder to bring a teeshirt, shorts, socks and appropiate footwear as the session will involve using the climbing apparatus.

Values Award - Well done Amelia Sutton for building up her sense of trust to stay for longer periods of time in her play sessions.

School Uniform for September Teresa has some guidance leaflets for those who are unsure of what to order for September. Mrs Millington has informed us that the orders must be handed in by the end of June, so we can have delivery before the end of the summer term. Order forms are available from either the Early Years Centre or the School Office. Please do not forget to allow for children’s growth when ordering. We cannot exchange once printed and no refunds will be given.

Thank you.
