Youth Council 4/13/15 Meeting Minutes

Excused: Caitlin Epstein, Callie Alvarado, Luca Plott, Merrill Douglass, William Brazil.; Not excused: Adelle Patten, Hannah Ross Patten, Seth Kirby Members signed in with Secretary Maddie Bovasso. Returning member applications handed out. Vice President Katherine Shue called the meeting to order in the absence of President Callie Alvarado and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Members welcomed Kyle White, Concord Public Library Branch Manager. She told members about the new Teen Advisory Board meeting 5/28 at the Library. Handouts were available to those interested. City Council, 4/9 Attended by Meg, Allyson, Riley, Izzy, Raina, Callie, and John Edwards. Donovan, Dorothy, Loren and Symira did not attend and are instructed to attend other City meetings in April. Kitty City Donation Drive, Lauren Swink, chair. 5 of the following items = 1 service point or max. 10 items = 2 service points: Clorox, Lysol, Windex, Simple Green, Dawn Detergent, Clorox Wipes, Air Fresheners, Hand Soap, Paper Towels, 30 Gallon Black Trash Bags. 1 cat carrier = 1 service point. Members are limited to two service points. Members may donate these items at the 4/27 meeting. Donating tonight: Raina, Dorothy, Allyson, Carter, Mary Lauren, Loren, Lauren Bunny Run 5K, 4/4, chair Katherine Shue. William B., Adelle, Amelia, Audrey, Donovan, Lucas P., Dorothy participated . Bunny Run Festival, 4/4, chair Lia Esposita. Katleen, John Edwards, Carter, Ugoji, Emily H., Brandon, Callie, Seth, Lauren S. participated Mushroom Building Work Day, Tuesday, 4/7. Mitchell, Meg, Kerry, Amelia, Jake, Katherine, Brandon and Rebekah participated. Mushroom Bottom Build Day, Wednesday, 4/15. Will meet at Academy Recreation Center in the Arts & Crafts room at 3:30 p.m. 147 Academy Ave. NW. Izzy, Amelia, Meg, Raina and Jake have signed up. Canvas Painting, Wednesday, 3:00pm 4/15. Meet at Downtown Concord Development Corporation office across from the police station 30 Cabarrus Ave. W. Hannah Ross, Mary Lauren, Loren, Adelle, Lauren S, and Dorothy are signed up. Social, 4/20, CiCi’s, chair Allyson Finley. Meet at CiCi’s at 6:30 p.m. Wear your YC T-shirts!! Community Free Clinic 5:30- 8:00pm 4/21, chair Jake Ryan. Katherine and John Edwards have volunteered. Big Brother Big Sister Bowl for Kids Sake, 4/25, chair Katleen Cruz Sorosa. 8am-12pm Volunteers: Lauren S, Izzy, Carter, Aarushi 1 more volunteer needed. 12-4pm Volunteers: Maggie, Donovan, and Jake. Spring Into Arts Festival, 5/2, 9am-12noon, 11:30-2:30,2-5pm, downtown Concord, chairs Maddie Bovasso & Riley Olson. Sign up Genius link will be sent out Tuesday. Mentors needed for incoming ’15-’16 new members!!! Chair Caitlin Epstein. SUG will be sent out tomorrow. Members that sign up will be required to attend the Information Meeting 4/27 at 6:30 p.m. Awards Banquet, 5/18, Hotel Concord. Invitation- Merrill, chair, Lauren, Maggie. Invitations will be ordered next week and the committee will meet to address the envelopes following delivery. Executive Board attending. Returning Member Applications due at next meeting, 4/27. No exceptions! Next and last meeting is 4/27, 7:00pm at the Police station, 41 Cabarrus Ave. W
