Oakwood Temporary Housing is Facebook's Approved temporary housing provider. Oakwood will manage your housing for your bootcamp/travel program in Vancouver. We look forward to serving you.

Overview

Facebook employees will be housed at a fully furnished corporate apartment in a Facebook approved community. Facebook will cover the cost of your rent, furnishings, utilities (electricity, water, gas, sewer, and garbage removal), high speed internet with 100 mpb, local telephone service, TV, basic cable, weekly housekeeping. Oakwood will contact you with your apartment assignment at a facebook approved community. What’s included in my apartment?

Your apartment includes everything you need in your home away from home  Fully furnished apartment with complete house-wares  Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom  Utilities included and hooked-up prior to move-in, such as local telephone service, high speed internet, TV and basic cable  Weekly housekeeping services  One assigned parking space per apartment  Dedicated 24/7/365 Customer Service Reps for all service issues .

What is not included in my apartment?

 Long distance telephone charges  Incidentals or any other upgraded amenities are not provided as part of the standard apartment package. Should you choose additional services or upgrades it will be at your own expense.

Are all the utilities paid for?

Yes, Oakwood's rates are all-inclusive. Monthly rent paid by Facebook includes utilities such as electricity, water, gas, sewer, and garbage removal, high speed internet, local telephone service, TV, and basic cable. These utilities and services are connected prior to move in so they are available immediately upon arrival.

What does Housekeeping include?

Our housekeeping service will help keep your apartment looking spotless. Housekeeping service will be provided on a weekly basis. You will be given the date of service upon arrival. Included in the housekeeping duties with each visit:  Cleaning - Full set on new linens on bed(s)  Replacement towels.  Floors mopped & vacuumed  Bathrooms cleaned  Toilet paper  Living-room general clean  Kitchen area - clean work-top, kitchen appliances

The housekeeping team will not do the following: • Pick up clothes, fold clothes or do personal laundry - If clothes are left on the floor during a housekeeping visit, your floors will not be vacuumed. • Pick up trash – If trash is left about the apartment, it will not be removed. • Clean out refrigerator • Unload dishwasher or scrub pots & pans with dried food

Where will the apartment community be located?

We strive to house Facebook employees in locations as close to the Facebook campus as possible. All apartment communities used for employee housing are approved by Facebook. Your apartment will be located within an 18 minute walk to the facebook office.

How do I make a reservation?

Oakwood will receive approval from facebook’s approved Relocation company and we will then reach out to you to gather roommate preferences if applicable, and explain next steps.

What if there is not an apartment available for the dates I need?

If Oakwood is unable to accommodate your housing need into an apartment, you will be referred to Facebook Travel/Carlson Wagonlit who will assist you with a hotel reservation.

How will I receive my confirmation?

Oakwood will e-mail your location assignment and arrival instructions within 7 days prior to your arrival date.

When will I know my address?

Your apartment address will be contained in your Arrival Instructions.

May I see my apartment prior to move in?

Oakwood apartments resemble one another by design; regardless of the actual apartment complex you are assigned. Each apartment includes a furniture package, kitchen package, linens, towels and other home items you would need while staying at your home away from home. Please visit the sample properties to view a standard apartment/condo in Vancouver.

Are smoking apartments available? Apartment/condo communities in Vancouver are non-smoking. Oakwood expects our guests to comply with community policies while residing in these communities. If you smoke, please let us know right away so we can choose a property with the closest smoking area available.

Can I bring a pet?

Some locations will allow pets; however there are restrictions and pet fees apply. If you would like to inquire about bringing a pet with you, please contact Amber Zimpleman at [email protected]. Facebook employees are responsible to pay for any required pet fees or damages caused by their pet.

Moving In and Moving Out:

What if I want to arrive earlier or stay longer than the Facebook policy allows?

If the apartment is available, you are allowed to arrive as early, or extend your stay for as long as you like at your own expense. You will be responsible for the rent for days stayed outside of the Facebook policy. Please coordinate any early arrivals or late departures through Amber at [email protected] .

How do I make changes to my reservation or extend my stay?

Adjustments to reservations due to changes with your bootcamp program must be approved. Please contact your Oakwood representative, Amber Zimpleman at [email protected] as soon as you are aware of a change to your program.

Check out Procedures

You will be provided information on “Check out Procedures” in your Check in Package. Please read over the requirements prior to checking out of your suite. Upon move out, any damages, missing or broken items or excessive wear and tear of the suite will incur applicable fees and charged accordingly. As every attempt is made to ensure that each suite is maintained to the utmost satisfaction and quality, we ask that you contact us within 24 hours of arrival should you have any questions or concerns regarding your suite.

Who do I contact if I have a service issue during my stay?

Keys

Key set(s) #1 and #2 will be provided for you to use during your stay. It is important that all complete key sets are left in the suite upon your departure. Replacement of missing key sets would result in applicable charges.

Rules & Regulations: Living in the Property

You will be provided a blue colored booklet that includes important rules and regulations prevailing in buildings/complexes. Please follow these rules and regulations for your personal safety and well being and for the well being of all other residents in the building. The book details guidelines and recommendations that we request you follow.

If you would like to receive a copy of the building’s rules and regulations please call the High Street office at 604-605-0294 and they will be pleased to send you a copy for your reference/use.

Is renters insurance required?

While renters insurance is not required, Oakwood strongly suggests acquiring renters insurance for your own personal protection. Neither Oakwood, nor Facebook, is responsible for any lost or stolen personal items.
