Maningrida School provides education from preschool to senior years. It also provides education services to eight Homeland Learning Centres (HLCs). The HLCs are varying distances from the school with varied accessibility (often seasonal) to each site and deliver education to small groups of students unable to attend the central school in the area.

Enrolment and attendance at Maningrida School is variable, with the highest attendance during the wet season and lower attendance during the dry season when people are most mobile.

Maningrida has been identified as a site under the National Partnership Agreement on Remote Service Delivery, as well as a Territory Growth Town under the NT Government's A Working Future initiative. Housing Furnished one, two or three bedroom homes are provided to teachers and their families to lease at no cost. There is limited housing available in the community and you may be asked to live in share accommodation with other teachers.

The NT Government’s Territory Housing is the tenancy manager who coordinates repairs and maintenance. The Department of Education and Training provides funding to the school to furnish the houses.

Most houses are equipped with a lounge suite, coffee table, book case, computer desk, oven and stove, microwave, fridge, dining room table and chairs, a queen bed in the master bedroom and a single bed in other bedrooms. Each bedroom also has a chest of drawers and curtains.

Shopping and Supplies The Maningrida community has 2 main shops MPA and BAC; these have a variety of everyday items. There is also a GOOD FOOD Kitchen, takeaway shop and a camping store. There are many things you cannot buy in the community and teachers do their grocery shopping through bush orders at Coles or Woolworths and have their supplies delivered weekly to Maningrida School by Perkin’s Express (a barge service operating twice a week).
