Lesson 2 UI Designer: Forms Designer (44.28 minutes )
Review the basics of Customizing a UI Form with the Quickpaint Method The Menu Options, The View Options, Introduction to the Toolbox Exercise # 1 A HR11.1 Form will be customized we will : - Explore and modify base form “ document “ properties - Move fields from a Tab Region to the Base Page. - Default a Form Action, Default Field values - Remove Select Form “Transfer To “ options - Remove Form Actions, - Remove 2 tabs from the Tab Region The modified form will be saved as “HR11.1_EXERCISE1 and a Portal short cut method will be made to deploy the Form. Default values to Fields and Actions to Forms Simple Method of deploying a CustomForm.
Lesson 3 UI Designer : Forms Designer (Part A : 24.47 minutes ) Review the basics of Customizing a UI Form with the Blank Method The Menu Options, The View Options, Introduction to the Toolbox Exercise # 2 A HR11.1 Form using the Blank Palette Method. See Exercise Spec sheet Design Studio Exercise2.doc
The modified form will be saved as “HR11.1_EXERCISE2 and a Portal short cut method will be made to deploy the Form.

Lesson 4 Building DME Calls (17.21 minutes )
In this Lesson we will Review using the DME API Builder Program that is provided as a tool within the Design Studio Environment. All options within this tool will be reviewed and a follow along exercise ( to query AP Vendor Balance )accompanies this lesson .

Lesson 5 Building AGS Calls (14.16 minutes)
In this Lesson will Review using the AGS API Builder Program that is provided as a tool within the Design Studio Environment. All options within this tool will be reviewed and a follow along exercise ( to perform a AGS Add to a PO10.1 Lawson Program ) accompanies this Lesson .

Now that we have hands on experience using the UI Designer via the preceding exercises and exposure to creating AGS and DME API’s . Lets Take a step back and review UI Designer and all of its objects within the UI Designers’s Toolbox before forge forward into complementing the custom forms with javascript. Lesson 7 Review of the Forms Scripting Capability (14.15 minutes )
In this Lesson we will Review the use of Javascript & XML to enhance the functionality of Custom Forms and Portal Pages. Functional programming skillsets required to be successful in incorporating scripting are discussed as well . Where resources exist to attain basic functional skillsets in HTML/ Java Scripting and the XML document object model are shared . Examples of the use of scripting within Custom UI’s are demonstrated and discussed.

In this Lesson we fully explore the potential of scripting to complement extending the functionality of the Lawson Design Studio Development Environment . Along with the follow-along Visual Screen Recordings there is a document with the Code for each exercise . The name of this document is Lesson8_Exercises_code.doc. Lesson 10 Review of Portal Page Designer (9.16 minutes )
In this Lesson we will Introduce and Review the use of Portal Page Designer and review some practical and relevant examples of User Interfaces built with this Development Application. Also , discussed is the need to develop a thought naming convention to be used in the creation of Portal Page and subcomponent “XML” files . Lesson 11 Portal Page Designer Exercises
