START TIME 8.15 AM COMPETITION RULES
1. This competition will be played under World Bowls, Laws of the sport of bowls, Crystal Mark edition. 2. Entry will be restricted to a minimum of 16 teams and a maximum of 24 teams. 3. ALL MATCHES WILL CONSIST OF 6 ENDS OR 50 MINUTES – A WHISTLE WILL BE BLOWN AT 45 MINUTES AFTER WHICH NO FURTHER JACK MAY BE CAST. 4. There will be 4 sections of 6 teams. All matches will be played on a round robin format, with the top 2 teams of each section going on to play in the quarter finals. 5. Three points will be awarded for each game won, one point for a draw. 6. In the event of a tie on points after completion of all games in each section, the following will determine positions: (a) shot difference, (b) ends won, (c) winner of last end played. 7. Quarterfinals Quarter Final 1 Winners of Section 1 –v- Runners up of Section 2 Quarter Final 2 Winners of Section 2 –v- Runners up of Section 3 Quarter Final 3 Winners of Section 3 –v- Runners up of Section 4 Quarter Final 4 Winners of Section 4 –v- Runners up of Section 1 8. Semi finals Semi Final 1 Winners of quarter final 1 –v- winner of quarter final 2 Semi final 2 Winners of quarter final 3 –v- winner of quarter final 4
9. A final will then be played and a 3rd & 4th place play off. 10. In the event of a tie in knock out stages Rule 6 will apply. 11. All competitors to report in by 8 am. 12. Toss for mat. 13. Two trial ends of 2 bowls only on the first match. 14. Dead ends will not be replayed. The jack will be re-spotted on the centre line 2 metres from the ditch. 15. No visits to head allowed, skips must go to mat together. 16. Dress code will be either club colours or whites, but all players in same team must wear the same. 17. Official score cards must be signed by both teams and handed to organiser a.s.a.p on completion of match. 18. In the event of the competition not being completed, for whatever reason, play will be resumed on Tuesday 3rd May at 10 am. 19. An umpire will be in attendance.
