Shark Tailz – 5th April The Friday night raffles and members badge draw don’t miss out, last Friday night the Members draw was $150 it was not claimed (Sharnie) so on Friday 8th April it will be $200.

You must be present to win. Jackpot’s $50 every week until it reaches $500 then it is drawn until we have a winner. Huge thanks to Bruce from ‘Rhino Industries’ who sponsors the members draw weekly.

The Barra Comp The Clubs “Barra Classic” was held on the weekend not a lot of fish were caught. Results: Barra (male) – Matty 65cm Barra (junior) – Jack (little Hippy) 71cm Barra (female) – not claimed no entries. Come on girls lift your game Pelagic – Patrick Blanch (a little Trevally) Snapper – Des Blanch 40cm Jewie – Coighty 111cm Mud Crab – Patrick Blanch 199mm Catfish – Carla Dent Best junior – Angus Cairns Wayneo won the “dh” award for having 3 flat tires on the way home on his trailer. Although he states that he didn’t deserve it, I hear that he could have won it for about another 4 incidents. All juniors received a prize and lures.

The bar-b-que presentation was fun with lots of tall stories overheard. Thanks to our sponsor Great Northern who donated ever cool esky that was raffled with a meat tray to go with it. It was a very popular raffle and tickets were at a premium. It was won by Deano (the barra magnet)

Looks like the CRABS are coming on so don’t miss out, go get some. Coming events Blue Water Comp We have set the dates for a Blue Water competition; this being over Sat 30th April and Sunday 1st May 2016. It will also be open, so you can fish anywhere around the top end area. Prizes will be as per the Brag Board. Lines in at 6.00am on the Saturday and weigh in ceases at 5.00pm on the Sunday at the Tavern. Further details to follow. Mud Crab Comp The new start to the Fishing Club year always commences with the Crab Comp. This has been set down for Sat 9th July and Sun 10th July 2016. Open to crab anywhere in the top end area. There will be the biggest crab ($1000-00) prize plus mystery size prizes. As this will be the start of the New Year all persons will have to re-join their membership to enter. AGM- the annual general meeting will be held prior to the presentation of the Crab Comp. Please put your hand up and assist to keep this great little family club. Members T-Shirts & Singlets Membership singlet’s and T-Shirts have been printed and are now available, collect from Des at the Howard Springs Tavern on Friday nights.

Memberships Don’t forget memberships are from Crab Comp to Crab Comp usually in July each year. So if you have not joined yet this year its time too. Kids under 18 are free. Please supply an email address and contact phone number when registering so that you receive all news regarding the clubs activities. Memberships can be renewed on Friday afternoon from 4.30pm at the Howard Springs Tavern. Membership prices remain the same $30 for single and $60 a family.
