Course Description: The Lodging Management Program is a two-year lodging curriculum developed by the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association with input from thousands of lodging professionals across the nation. This course focuses on “hands on” and academic activities geared toward management opportunities and skills in the hospitality industry. The Lodging Management Program will provide the student with an overview of the lodging industry and will also provide competencies for successful performance in the lodging industry. The West Virginia Standards for 21 st Century Learning include the following components: 21st Century Content Standards and 21 Century Learning Skills and Technology Tools. All West Virginia teachers are responsible for classroom instruction that integrates learning skills, technology tools, and content standards and objectives.
