Committee Updates:

Committee updates were provided for each committee by the committee chair.

Tag Day: Joe Brugger has volunteered to be the Tag Day chair for the 2010 season. The Tag Day Dates scheduled are Saturdays, May 8th and June 12th and August 14th.

There are 4 locations: Rt 322 & 30, BJ’s / Home Depot , 30 & 113 and Wallace Ave intersection near WAWA. The shifts two hour time slots from 9 -11, 11-1 and 1 – 3. The Downingtown Police need to be contacted and parent volunteers will be instructed to watch for the player’s safety. Coach Milano distributed the schedule to the players, and we need to confirm that we have enough parent volunteers. The tag days are one of our biggest funding events, and all players need to participate for this fundraiser to be a success. We will contact the Sheridan’s to make sure we can meet at their house to collect the buckets. Joe is getting signs from Pete Goodrich and schedules from Doug Hall. Joe also has buckets but it would be helpful to have D-West football decals for the buckets.

Program and Booster card: Darryl provided a list of vendors that will be included on the “Blue & Gold Express” card. If anyone has any additional vendors to add to the card, please send soon to [email protected]. Darryl confirmed that agreements have been provided to each vendor. Volunteers are still needed.

Social Events: Deonna reviewed the plans for the social event to be held in the stadium on Thursday, August 26th. A barbeque / pep rally event with Downingtown West fall sports teams, Cheerleaders and Marching band is being planned. The event will be open to the entire school and the date is Thursday, August 26th which is the last day of camp. The event will be a Fall Pep Rally. She will contact the other booster clubs so they have an opportunity to participate. Local vendors will be contacted. Some ideas for the event is a Barbeque meal ticket sold by the boosters, dunk tank and field goal game. Additional volunteers are needed.

Summer Shoot-Out: Kate Connell provided an update and we are looking for donations for hot dogs, bagged snacks, chips, Tastycakes or any other donations to feed the teams at the Shoot-out.

Team Day Camp with Lower Dauphin: We will be serving lunch and providing t-shirts. Stephanie Cutillo is working on food for the players. Subs were provided last year. Any extras from the Summer Shoot-out will also be used for this event.

Banquet: Gina Ferron provided an update and we need to decide on a date very soon because the banquet facilities only have a few dates open in December. A tentative reservation was made for December 5th at the Downingtown Country Club. There are also several dates open at Chester Springs. Gina is also looking at other locations. We will take a vote at the next booster meeting so we can reserve a date. We need a facility that will hold approximately 325 people.

Photographer: John and Darryl are reviewing the price list to make sure the prices are competitive. It would benefit the organization to have a photographer that is local and can offer consistency and is available on game nights.

Game Video: The boosters were very happy with the quality of the video taken by Brooke, especially the DVD given to all the players at the banquet. We would like him to video the games again this year.

Booster Storage Space: John followed-up with facilities for space to store booster supplies. The school does not have much space and there is not much room for storage. We may need to look at purchasing a shed.

Website: A Booster box has been added to the official Downingtown West Football website: http://www.dwhsfootball.com/ We would like to update the booster site with important dates, links to news articles and other sites, posting minutes, class officers / committee chairs and to post by-laws. We also need the ability to broadcast messages and banner notifications. Mark Bolembach did an excellent job on the Rugby site and it willing to help with the football booster site. The Rugby site is http://www.drfc.us/ .

Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 3rd, 2010, @ 7:00 Coach Milano’s room 143. ` Downingtown West Football Boosters Club Chairperson List Underclassmen parent volunteers are strongly needed to chair and co-chair some of our committees. Underclassmen parents are asked to co-chair so that information on the committee/event is retained for next year. We need people to be able to carry out these activities for next year. Each committee chair will be asked to document the tasks so their notes can be passed to the underclassmen.
