2017 General “Static Project” Delegation to State Fair August 27-29

Here are some final details for 4-H members who are riding the bus to State Fair. We have a chartered bus going to the State Fair. There are several details and rules you need to be aware of. Please read through this in its entirety.

1. NEW 2017: WE MUST ARRIVE by noon at the State fair grounds. It is very critical you are on time to load so we stay on time for schedule. Pack snacks and beverage for bus as we will not have time to stop.

2. All youth riding the bus will be given meal tickets and their state fair 4-H button on the bus trip down. The button is to identify you as a 4-H member attending the state fair.

3. All Roseau County 4-H Youth are expected to participate in all project judging and experiences. Roseau County will also need 6 volunteers to help serve breakfast on Tuesday, Aug. 29. We will gather the names on the bus.

4. For the bus: You may bring PG 13 or under, NO RATED R DVD movies for the bus! Be sure to label movies with your name. We will NOT stop for lunch on the way down. You are welcome and encouraged to bring some snacks for the bus.

Other Items:

1. Be sure to help each other and always stay in groups. 2. Please be respectful of the chaperones in charge and visit with them about what your plans are during the day. 3. The chaperones will be in the 4-H Building during meal times each day. This will be a meeting place for anyone with questions. 4. Meals are on second floor of 4-H building or Erickson Hall/cafeteria; Harkness Hall is the first floor of the 4-H building. 5. 4-H members must refrain from the use/possession of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products or other chemical substances at all times. Violators will be sent home immediately at family’s expense. 6. Be sure to read and follow cell phone and all other 4-H policies. 7. Recognize the rights of others with respect to noise, language and conduct. Be aware of cell phone rules. 8. Sleep in assigned bunk and be in the dormitory by the state fair curfew hour (11:00 p.m.) 9. Dress appropriately! SMILE! 

PACKING LIST  Good walking shoes  Pillow and sheet, blanket or sleeping bag  Towels and toiletries  Slip on shoes or slippers (shoes must be worn at all times in the dorm)  Clothes (pack light-there are 87 stairs to carry your luggage up)  Medication(s) – you normally take  Money for meals on the bus, any meals you will buy at the fair, and for extra spending  A smile  BUS SCHEDULE

The schedule is as follows: (Please be on time or you will be left.)

Sunday, August 27 th 4:45 am Load Bus at Roseau County Courthouse Parking Lot 5:00 am Depart from Roseau

6:45 am Load at Erskine Gas Station (intersection of Hyw. 59 & 2) 7:00 am Leave Erskine

12:00 pm – *Must be at the gate to come into fairgrounds by 12 p.m. SHARP!

Tuesday, August 29 th 3:30-4 pm approximate departure time from State Fair grounds. **Stop and eat supper along the way if choose- you need money for this. 9:30 pm Approximate Arrive in Erskine gas station 11:00-12 pm approximate arrival at Roseau County Courthouse Parking Lot

Times will depend on when we leave the State Fairgrounds (between 3-4 pm). Kids will call on the way home to let parents know the timeline. If they do not have their own cell, we will arrange to borrow from others on the bus. We recommend parents use their own judgment on youth driving themselves long distances home late at night.
