FALLS MANUFACTURING, FAIRLESS HILLS, PA 2014-10/15 Production Manager- Manage a 250 employee workforce that manufacture the truck parts and trailers for U-Haul. We are the world’s number one provider of moving equipment. Our three shift operation includes welding, fabrication, plasma cutting, stamping and assembly. My direct reports consist of six production supervisors, engineering manager, shipping supervisor, scheduling coordinator, and purchasing manager.
GREIF, WARMINSTER, PA 2013- 2014 Production Manager- Managed all production, inventory, quality, and distribution for a steel plant. Coordinate workflow and processes across multiple departments within the company. Drove all continuous improvement initiatives including 5 S events. Prepare regular reports for production, quality, and safety committee activities. Additional responsibility for maintenance of equipment, capital expenditures, and implementation of preventative maintenance.
GAMESA CORPORATION, Fairless Hills, PA 2008- 2012 Director of Operations- Managed the engineering retrofits for all production and existing wind turbines at wind farms throughout North America. Coordinate changes in engineering designs and logistics improvements with our corporate office in Spain. Directed 80 direct and indirect employees with four department managers. Manage P & L for $75 million with operating budget exceeding $4 million. Set numerous production records on tiller and leaf blower lines. Introduced three new product lines in 2004 Participated in union contract negotiations. Managed clean up process from mock OSHA inspection. Managed installation of new production lines. Recruited Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Manager, and Production Supervisor.
CASTLE METALS, Fairless Hills, PA 2002- 2004 General Manager- Direct plant and sales operations for a regional steel distribution center generating $25 million. Responsible for cultivating customer relationships through program and transactional business. Dual responsibility for plant and inside sales after General Manager was terminated. Led team through major change initiatives and transition. Introduced lean principles and quality of work life team building concepts. Position was eventually eliminated as part of companywide reorganization.
TUBULAR STEEL INC, Fairless Hills, PA 1993- 2001 General Manager- Manage P & L for $20 million regional distribution center with a 9000 ton inventory, shipping 100 tons per day. Lead plant and sales personnel including a national account group covering the Mid Atlantic Region. Led reorganization of management staff and inside sales group. Reduced cost per ton from $119 to $84 over two years. Cultivated number one account from $250,000 to $2 million in sales. Improved local freight program profitability by 6%. Introduced freight zones and regularly scheduled vendor negotiations. Managed building expansion doubling processing and inventory areas to 125,000 square feet. Increased tons shipped from 32 per day to 80 per day during tenure.
MARMON KEYSTONE CORPORATION, Essington, PA 1990-1993 Operations Manager- Manage the day-to-day operations of a regional distribution center. This was a new facility in a leased building that eventually moved to New Castle, Delaware.
BENSALEM PIPE, FAIRLESS HILLS, PA 1985-1990 Plant Manager- Promoted to plant manager after three years of supervisor responsibilities that included a complete redesign of the tube mill division. We were coming off a company-wide shut down due to financial challenges. My role, in addition to supervising the tube mill production, was to hire, train, and coordinate the labor distribution for the new company. The company shut down in 1990 after the death of the owner.
