AQR, Unit 1: Analyzing Numerical Data
Our Learning Goals: We will…
use proportions and the fundamental counting principle to estimate large numbers.
understand and interpret aspect ratio in various settings.
use proportional reasoning to solve problems involving ratios, such as changing tires and selecting televisions.
calculate and interpret weighted averages and weighted sums.
determine check digits for UPCs and credit card numbers, while analyzing errors that make occur with these numbers using the check digit method.
Why do we study this? Proportional reasoning and basic numerical calculations – such as ratios, rates, and percent – can be applied to settings in business, media, and many other areas of life. We learn in depth how to analyze information in order to make decisions in everyday situations.
How we will show what we have learned…
Formative Assessments Summative Assessments Ongoing formative Summative assessments to measure assessments during lesson learning at the end of concepts will include and homework activities will the following: help in monitoring learning Unit 1: District-wide Exam and providing feedback for Fermi Question Project students.
