Your assignment is to install Windows Server 2008 in the virtual environment you created in Unit 1.
(VirtualBox recommended)
1. List and detail some pre-installation steps for Windows server 2008. Did you perform any pre-installation? steps? Which ones?
I did a few pre-installation steps for Windows server 2008, the first one I did was to make sure the firewall was turned off and took out all my flash drive, second I did a hardware compatibility check, third I closed all programs that were open and even closed the ones that were not need that were running in the back ground. Lastly I did a memory test; all these steps went as planned there were no conflicts or issues. I installed
Windows Server 2008 Datacenter, I wanted this version because it has everything that each of the other versions has plus some extra features that I want to learn.
The overall installation of Windows Server 2008 Datacenter went pretty good, it was an easy installation and there were no problems or conflicts of installing the OS, the only issue I came up with was making a new password to sign on to the network, which I played around with and finally figured what I was doing wrong, I think it was too long or had too many Unit Two Project 3 different character, so I did a shorter one and worked like a charm, other than that there were no other issues or conflicts that I saw.
