2015-2016 STUDENT DRESS CODE ***Subject to change/adjust as deemed necessary Students are expected to dress appropriately for school. The following dress code will be observed:  No sagging pants allowed. Pant must be around waist.  No hairstyles which distract other students or interfere with the classroom participation of other students, or which constitute a health or safety hazard.  Sunglasses, hats, caps, scarves or head covers of any description are not to be worn inside buildings, except when worn because of recognized religious beliefs, a matter of health or safety, or in connection with a school-sponsored program. If we see it inside school building, we will confiscate it.  Shoes or sandals are to be worn throughout the school day.  “Shower shoes” “Slides” or “House slippers” are not allowed for safety reasons.  Distractive/scanty clothing such as: Midriff blouses, halter tops, low-cut tops, tank tops and “spaghetti” strap shirts, Short pants, miniskirts, short shorts, Noticeably tight or transparent clothing OR any clothing which allows undergarments to be revealed is not permissible.  Sleeves shirts must be 2 inches wide ( measure with ruler or use the width of 3 fingers)  Skirts and shorts should be long enough to reach below the fingertips when standing.  Jeans/pants with holes that reveal skin must also meet the fingertip rule.  Sagging pants or shorts which allow the exposure of underwear or underwear type garments are not permissible.  Clothing which offensive, vulgar, profane, or which advertises or endorses drug or alcohol use is prohibited.  Belts, if worn, must be kept fastened or tied at all times.  Leggings/Jeggings may be worn providing the outermost layer of clothing (shorts, skirt, shirts, and dresses) meets the fingertip rule and or the the garment must come below the lower part of the hipline.  Pajamas and bedroom shoes are not permitted  Any clothing that could be perceived as gang affiliation.  The Discipline regarding the dress code is as follows:  1st Offense – Verbal Warning/ ISS to correct violation /sent home if needed  2nd Offense - Parent Contact & Administrative Action  3rd Offense – Parent Conference & Administrative Action
