Mission West Virginia Scholarship
5 - $2,000.00 scholarship for seniors who have experienced a foster care placement for 12 months or had a parent incarcerated for 12 months during their childhood. Funds can be used for any post-secondary education or training program including two or four year degree programs, vocational training or certificate program. 2016 Tucker Community Foundation High School Student Scholarship
Various Scholarships: one application
Scholarship awards are determined by the Tucker Community Foundation Committee.
Due April 1, 2016 Application: University of Charleston Short Story Scholarship Competition [email protected] Write a short story at least 1500 words in length that incorporates and eagle. Include full contact information and what major(s) you are interested in at the University of Charleston. Preference will be given to a student intending to major in English. 1st place wins $2000. 2nd place wins $1000. 3rd place wins $500. Submissions due March 1, 2016
Davis Health System Foundation Scholarship $1,000.00 to graduating seniors in Randolph, Barbour, Tucker, Pocahontas and Upshur counties who will be pursuing a certification or degree in a healthcare field. Albert Yanni Scholarship program 2016-2017
Criteria: Seniors Graduating in 2016 Be within the top 25% or have a minimum 3.0 CUM GPA No final semester grades below a “C” Be a CTE completer by the end of the school year Must be planning to pursue postsecondary education in a career field related to the CTE concentration Must be registered with or accepted by an accredited institution or technical center in a technical certificate or degree program. Application includes: Recommendation from an academic teacher, a CTE teacher, and a peer 500 word essay Award of $2,000.00 Due Date March 31, 2016

There are 11 scholarships being offered by the Barbour County Community Foundation. Each one has separate criteria for applicants. Mountaineer Chapter Scholarship Program
Students who plan to pursue a degree in higher education in the fields of forestry, environmental sciences, wildlife, fisheries, conservation, or agricultural sciences. 2 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors at the rate of $500 per semester for two semesters. Senior living in Barbour County for at least four years prior to the date of the award, seeking 2-4 training beyond high school in a medical related field. Two students will receive $1,000.00 over two years. Award made directly to the student. Award based on:

b. Extracurricular and/or community activities.
c. Be resident of Barbour County
d. Deomonstrate a sincere desire to attain a certificate or degree.

Two $1,000. Scholarships awarded to college freshmen entering a two or four year college program. Award sent directly to the college.

Three letters of recommendation

Lists of high school and community activities.
500 word essay outlining the applicant’s future educational/career goals, why this field of study ids of interest to the applicant, and expressing his/her need and desire to be awarded the scholarship.
ACT scores A description of the applicant’s senior project.

AbbVie has launched the AbbVie Rheumatology Scholarship, which is designed to provide financial support for exceptional students living with rheumatologic diseases, including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, or Ankylosing Spondylitis, as they pursue their higher education goals.
