Together we learn, lead, support and serve

Instructional Planning Council – October 13th, 2015

The Instructional Planning Council is made up of representatives from all component districts as well as TST BOCES. Each year the Instructional Planning Council creates a set of regional priorities that are student centered, systemic and data-informed. The council meets monthly to promote both organizational learning and teacher learning that leads to positive measurable outcomes for students.

Present:

Jenn Astles-Steinmetz, TST BOCES Jenn Gondek, TST BOCES Adam Bauchner, Dryden Kim Nichols, Candor Cheryl Button, TST BOCES Jane O’Brien, TST BOCES Barry Derfel, TST BOCES Rhody O’Donnell, LGTC Lauren Faessler, Lansing/TST BOCES Adam Rundell, South Seneca Angie Gemignani, Trumansburg Lynn VanDeWeert, ICSD Lee Ginenthal, ICSD

To Do:  IPC members and superintendents can review the around the table discussion by logging into Schoology - the access code for our course is: Z24QC-8M6QP.  IPC members can continue to access resources from our meetings and contribute to our blog discussions, by logging into Schoology.  IPC members will respond to the questions that others asked – these question are also in Schoology. See the discussion prompt “Questions I would like answered.”

Notes:  We spent the first portion of the meeting using Schoology to facilitate around the table. People were able to share what they are working on, ask questions, and respond to what others posted.  We used the Smartboard as an anecdotal formative assessment station – IPC members stopped by this station to identify which of the regional priorities they feel “are going well,” and which areas “still need growth.” The results are posted in Schoology, and attached.  After using the Reflection/Articulation/Clarity process, the group took time to look at the Regional Priority anecdotal assessment activity and discussed possible implications/reflections. We will do more with the regional priorities at our next meeting.
