A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of James Riley "Jim" Chaney. WHEREAS, James Riley "Jim" Chaney was born on May 29, 1923, the son of the late Carl Neal Chaney and Anna Elizabeth Mitchell Chaney; and WHEREAS, a graduate of Woodbury High School and the University of Kentucky, Jim Chaney was an active promoter of Jersey dairy cows. As an employee at Chaney Farms, which has been in the Chaney family since 1888, he joined the American Jersey Cattle Club in 1948, and was a former director of the association. He tirelessly promoted Jersey cows all over the United States and the world, and his contributions to the breed were duly recognized in 2003, when he was named Master Breeder at the 135th annual meeting of the American Jersey Cattle Association in Columbus, Ohio; and WHEREAS, Jim Chaney was a former member of the Warren County Cooperative Extension and the Farm Bureau. He served God as a member of the Presbyterian Church of Bowling Green; and WHEREAS, Jim Chaney was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Evelyn Marie Rochester Chaney and Helen Ruth Pardue Chaney; his stepdaughter, Evelyn Egbert Quaid; and his sister, Martha Chaney Pfister. He is survived by his son, Carl Neale (Debra) Chaney; his daughters, Mary Jo (Roy) Chaney, Ann Chaney (John) Kalmey, Rosie Chaney (David) Herbst, and Dana Chaney (David) Chamberlain; his stepdaughters, Teresa Egbert (Tim) Crowder and Judy Egbert (Jack) Lancaster; his brother-in-law, Dr. Glenn Pfister; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Jim Chaney departed this earthly life on February 18, 2011, and an entire community joins his family and friends in mourning his loss; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its most profound

sense of sorrow and proffers its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of James Riley "Jim" Chaney.
Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of James Riley "Jim" Chaney.
Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Carl N. Chaney, 9439 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101.
