INSURANCE FOR STUDENTS

• Please bring the application form and a copy of the Meldezettel, Studienblatt and Studienbestätigung to the Wiener Gebietskrankenkasse (Wienerbergstr. 15-19, 1100 Wien) • Your insurance starts one day after the completion of your application. • A letter of confirmation stating that you are insured will be sent to your home address in Vienna. • You get an insurance card + number → please always keep the card with you! • Payment forms are sent monthly to your home address. Please pay within 15 days (the student insurance costs EUR 55,40 per month). • How to cancel your insurance: Please complete the form “Abmeldung” and send it to the Wiener Gebietskrankenkasse before you leave Vienna. Add a copy of your “Meldezettel” (once you have cancelled your registration at the Municipal District Office)!

You can either submit your application to the headquarters or to one of the branches in the districts (see list below). The branches, however, don’t process your application but just forward them to the headquarters – which prolongs the process. If you require the insurance as soon as possible, you might want to submit your application to their headquarters directly.
