A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor of State Wrestling Champion Jordan Blackmore. WHEREAS, Jordan Blackmore is a senior at Ryle High School in Union County, and he is the son of Peter and Nancy Jordan Blackmore; and WHEREAS, the State Wrestling Championship was held at the Farnham Dudgeon Civic Center in Frankfort, Kentucky, on February 17, 2001; and Jordan Blackmore finished his high school wrestling career by capturing the 135-pound state wrestling championship title, where he all but clinched the title with two takedowns in the opening 25 seconds and a third in the second minute; and WHEREAS, Jordan Blackmore finished with a 50-1 record and didn't lose to a Kentucky wrestler all year; and he dedicated his career to two friends, former Covington Catholic football star Artie Steinmetz (1998) and Ryle High School senior Travis Alig, who died in traffic accidents in 1998 and last Thanksgiving; and he painted the letters "AS" and Alig's No. 9 football on his shoes, a befitting memory to his dear friends; and WHEREAS, Jordan Blackmore exemplifies the finest qualities so inherent in the youth of the Commonwealth of Kentucky; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby congratulate Jordan Blackmore upon his impressive high school wrestling career, and for capturing the 135- pound state wrestling championship title. We wish to him success in all future endeavors. Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Jordan Blackmore. Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Paul Marcotte for presentation to Jordan Blackmore.
