The Union Pacific Railroad is a customer of Battery Research and Testing. We have adopted their procedures in an attempt to extend the life of VRLA batteries. Our test results show that these procedures have been effective. Hydration has shown immediate improvement in capacity, and we believe the installation of the catalyst vents will slow or eliminate the internal processes of the VRLA that cause the premature loss of capacity. Thanks to Battery Research and Testing, we are now better able to project resource needs and manage our critical telecommunications assets.
