Sra. López Name ______Español Class ______Spanish Trash

The Spanish language can be found almost everywhere, and “Spanish Trash” is the perfect opportunity for you to see how much Spanish is out there – right in your community! “Spanish Trash” is exactly what it sounds like… it’s Spanish that you might not normally see; often times because you throw it away. It can be found on wrappers, boxes, in newspapers, on Spanish monies, at La Hacienda…the options are almost limitless!

Each month, you will need to turn in your “Spanish Trash” by the end of that month. These are the following guidelines that you should follow to earn full credit for the assignment. Please refer to this page throughout this semester as you prepare to turn in your assignment. The rubric is also on this page.

First: Find a piece of “Spanish Trash” and attach it to a sheet of paper with a). your name b). the date c). your class d). your number (5 points)

Then, answer the following questions: (5 points each) 1). What is it? 2) How do you know it’s in Spanish (versus another language like French)? 3) What does it say? What does it mean? 4) Why is Spanish included on this particular piece of “Spanish Trash”? 5) Where did you find your “Spanish Trash”?
