PREDATOR RULES

ALL FISH MUST BE RETURNED ALIVE TO THE WATER IMMEDIATELY AFTER CAPTURE!

Please read in conjunction with the General Fishery Rules:

1. Predator fishing is only permitted between October 1st & March 14th. 2. Only anglers with experience of safely handling pike and zander may fish for predators .Bailiffs reserve the right to refuse permission should they deem an angler to be inexperienced or not to have the correct tackle. 3. Live bait and freshly killed dead baits must not be used. Anyone found catching or bringing live fish onto fishery will be prosecuted. 4. All fish must be returned to water immediately after capture. 5. You must be in possession of suitable tackle, i.e. carp or pike rods - the use of sea tackle is not allowed. 6. You must have the correct unhooking equipment - a large landing net and large unhooking mat (minimum 36") and long forceps - gags are banned. 7. Lines must be minimum of 12lb BS - braided mainlines must have a 1m length of nylon to the hook length. 8. You must use a recognized wire trace. 9. For bait fishing we operate a SINGLE HOOK policy only, TREBLES ARE BANNED. 10. All hooks must be barbless. 11. Deadbait rigs should only have a maximum of 2 single hooks which should not be more than 3" apart and no larger than size 4. 12. We permit treble hooks to be used on plugs and spinners, which must be fully de-barbed, two hooks only and hooks no larger than size 4. You must use a wire trace. 13. When spinning, you must have an unhooking mat, landing net and suitable unhooking tools with you at all times. 14. Our fishery operates an immediate strike rule - delay in striking will guarantee you a deep hooked fish.

Avoid deep hooked fish STRIKE IMMEDIATELY to ensure safe hooking!
