Well, spring has finally arrived and with it comes another season of new beginnings. We begin to see the birds return; we begin to see the grass turn green and shortly we will begin to see flowers bloom. And as we now move through the last couple weeks of the Lenten season we continue to focus on centering, refocusing, and beginning anew our journey with the Lord. The Easter celebration represents the end of the Lenten season, but it represents the beginning of new life. When Jesus rose from the grave, it represented not only new life for himself in his resurrected body, but new life for all who turn toward Him and seek Him as their Lord and savior.
So, as we approach this most important day of the Christian year, I pray that you would all be perceptive to the opportunities which surround you; that you would intentionally move to invite someone to our Easter Celebration at Prairie View on April 16th beginning with an egg bake at 9am and then worship at 10am. Easter is the time of year, more than any other time, when people who are not connected to a church family are the most open to an invitation from a friend, or family member, or co-worker. I am very pleased with the fact that we have a very warm and welcoming church family that you should all be comfortable, and in fact excited to invite others to become a part of.
May we all think about and follow through on inviting at least one person to our special Cantata service this Easter. From there we can let the Holy Spirit do the rest. In this way you may become God’s instrument in multiplying not only our local church family, but the entire “Family of God.”
Blessings to you all,
Pastor Mark
