Ø One Person Involved in Use & Supply of Fake Indian Currency Arrested by Crime Branch

 ONE PERSON INVOLVED IN USE & SUPPLY OF FAKE INDIAN CURRENCY ARRESTED BY CRIME BRANCH.  FAKE INDIAN CURRENCY NOTES WORTH 1,25,000/- RUPEES RECOVERED.

The Anti Robbery Cell of Crime Branch has nabbed a person involved in supply and use of fake Indian currency. He used to receive fake Indian currency notes from

Kanpur for use and supply to various persons in Delhi.

The name and particulars of the accused person arrested is as under: -

1) Wasim Ahmed S/o Nabi Hasan R/o Anjali Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Delhi. Age 38 Years.

On 30.01.2009, HC Ajeet No 184/DAP received an information that one person Wasim Ahmed, who is supplying fake Indian currency notes will be coming to park near, Nigam Bodh Ghat, Delhi at about 04.00 PM for supply of fake Indian currency notes. Accordingly a team under the overall supervision of Shri Sanjay Tyagi, ACP and Insp Richpal Singh and consisting of SI Sanjay Neolia, ASI Sumer Singh, HC Ajeet, Ct`s Ashok, Manoj, Sushil, Nihal and Nitin was formed. At the instance of the source, one person Wasim Ahmed was apprehended and from his possession, counterfeit Indian currency notes of denominations of Rs 50/-, 100/- & 500/- worth rupees 1,25,000/- were recovered. The counterfeit currency notes were printed in a manner that any ordinary person would not be able to detect the same. A case vide FIR No. 17/09, U/s 489 (B) & (C) I.P.C, PS Crime Branch, has been registered.

DETAILS OF INVESTIGATION AND DISCLOSURE

During investigation, it was revealed that the accused has a fruit rehri in Khajuri Khas, Delhi. He hails from Village Jallalabad, Shahjahan Pur, U.P. He came to Delhi in search of a job, but as he was illiterate, he could not find any employment. He joined a gang of druggists operated by one Jubail and started his career in crime. He was twice arrested in this connection in Kanpur and Noida. In Kanpur, he met one person namely Chacha who used to manufacture fake Indian currency notes. Wasim Ahmed decided to take supply of fake currency notes from him for supplying them to different persons in Delhi. Further investigations are in progress.

SPECIAL CELL DATED: 2.2.2009 A team of Special Cell led by Inspector Sanjay Dutt under the supervision of Shri Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, ACP has apprehended a notorious desperate interstate criminal Shokeen @ Yamin ( aged 32 years ) presently residing at Khajuri Delhi & permanent resident of village- Meerut UP.

On 31.01.2009, an information was received by Inspector Sanjay Dutt that a notorious and wanted criminal Shokeen @ Yameen would come near Dilshad Garden Metro station, Delhi. A trap was laid near the Shahdara border opposite Dilshad Garden Metro station, Delhi. Shokeen @ Yameen was spotted and arrested. During the personal search of Shokeen @ Yamin, a countrymade pistol & 4 live cartridges were recovered. A case under the Arms Act has been registered at PS Special Cell , New Delhi.

Shokeen @ Yamin was subjected to sustained interrogation in which he disclosed his involvement in number of cases in Delhi. He was also convicted in an attempt to murder case of PS Gokul puri. However he obtained parole from Delhi High Court in 2000 and thereafter did not surrender.

Shokeen @ Yamin further disclosed that after obtaining parole from Delhi High Court in 2000, he shifted from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh and remained at Meerut UP and came in contact with local criminals namely Bhura (Killed in encounter with UP Police) and was involved in more than 10 robberies/snatchings in Meerut, Kithore, Quila Parikshatgarh and Mawana. After the death of Bhura in an encounter by UP police, he shifted his base to Meerut. He joined hands with local gangsters and worked for them as muscleman. He used to threaten the businessmen of Meerut, Quila Parikshatgarh, Kithore and Hapur of Western Uttar Pradesh on behalf of gangsters.

Recently he started supplying illegal arms from one Ismail r/o Meerut UP and others and supplied them in Delhi. The police custody remand of accused Shokeen @ Yamin is obtained to apprehend other co-accused from Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh.

Some of his sensational involvements are as under-

On 23.03.2006, Shokeen @ Yamin alongwith other associates armed with pistols entered a shop in Lajpat Rai market Delhi for robbery. When the businessman raised alarm, they fired at businessman and injured him. His other associates were arrested in this case but he was declared Proclaimed offender. A case FIR No. 124/2006 U/s 394/397/34 IPC & 25/27/54/59 Arms Act was registered at P.S. Kotwali, Delhi in this regard.

In the year 2001, Shokeen @ Yamin alongwith 3 other associates attacked Nadeem r/o Sriram Colony, Delhi armed with swords, knives causing serious injuries to Nadeem. A case vide FIR No. 216/2001 U/s 307/34 IPC was lodged at P.S. Khajuri Khas, Delhi. His other associates were arrested in this case but he was declared Proclaimed offender by the Court.

In the year 1998, Shokeen @ Yamin alongwith 4 other associates shot at one local resident of Sriram Colony, Delhi causing serious bullet injuries. A case FIR No. 365/98 U/s 307/34 IPC was registered at P.S. Gokalpuri, Delhi. Shokeen @ Yamin was convicted in this case by the Session Courts, Delhi on 14.09.2000. On 05.02.2001, he managed parole from Delhi High court and jumped it.

In the year 1997, Shokeen @ Yamin alongwith 2 other associates robbed cash from a private bus at gun point in the area of P.S. Maurice Nagar Delhi.
