Plan to spend one day in every one of the four parks and leave a fifth day for the things that you may have missed or want to see again.

Why do you ask do you need so much time? Well it can take a good day to visit and discover over 47 square miles of Walt Disney World. That is about the size of San Francisco to two Manhattan islands. Of this 30,000 acres, less than one-fourth has been developed with another quarter designated as a wilderness preserve.

Please do not limit yourself to the rides that are listed in this guide, there is plenty more to see. This is why you need at least one day at each park. The rides that we have listed are definite must sees; they are often rides that the whole family will enjoy. Refer to your Park Guide for a listing of all the rides for each park. This section will let you know the dos and don’ts within Walt Disney World Resorts. . NO SMOKING, there is no smoking within the Walt Disney World parks except in designated areas . Fast Pass What is the Fast Pass? The Walt Disney World Fast Pass is basically a reservation to ride some of your favorite rides. Not all of the rides are Fast Pass rides so please refer to the times guide for a listing of Fast Pass rides. The Walt Disney World Fast Pass allows you to go on a fast pass ride, insert your ticket into the machine the Fast Pass machine and receive a reservation ticket for a return time on when you can return to the ride.

The fast pass procedures work as follows: . Arrive at your fast pass ride . Enter your ticket into the Fast Pass machine . Remove your Fast Pass reservation ticket (hold on to this you will need it to enter the ride) . Look at the return time for the ride (this can be an hour from now or four hours from now on a busy day) . Return to the ride at the time indicated . Enter the Fast Pass line . Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, or EPCOT as we know it, was Walt Disney’s vision for the future. EPCOT is a great park for anytime of the year. There are misting stations located throughout the park for those hot Florida says, and plenty of indoor locations for the cooler weather that Florida can encounter.

Park Map Listed below is a park map from EPCOT. Visitors enter the park through Future World and visit the various countries represented in the World Showcase. The fireworks are displayed in the World Showcase Lagoon.

Fun Facts . In the World Showcase, every nation is authentically represented even down to the cast members who work on location. The cast members are all from the country that they represent. . The King of Morocco personally sent over his artisans to construct the buildings in Morocco, therefore preserving authenticity. . 8 different countries provide fireworks for the nightly shows including the United States, France, Japan, China, Italy and Spain

Hidden Mickey’s Hidden Mickey’s are the hidden Mickey ear and face, usually shadowed, which are fun to find through out the mark. They will often look similar to this when seen throughout the parks oOo. Look for extras on your own or ask a Cast Member to see if they will share the secret of the Hidden Mickey.

Some of the Hidden Mickey’s that can be seen at EPCOT are: . When coming from the World Showcase lagoon, walking towards Spaceship Earth, you'll see two huge trees in front of Spaceship Earth. This is an upside-down hidden Mickey where the trees make Mickey's ears and Spaceship Earth is Mickey's head. . At Test Track there's a giant billboard out front with pictures of the globe. Look for Africa and then the newly formed island chain. You'll see a Hidden Mickey in the island chain. . In Mexico, near the end of the boat ride there are three arches on the left. The sales people (one female and one male) run alternately from arch to arch trying to sell something to you. Between the second and third arch, there are three bowls sitting between the boat and the arch. As you approach, they look like three distinct bowls. If you keep you eyes on the bowls and turn your head as the boat goes passed, you will find a Hidden Mickey over you left shoulder.

Recommended Park Time Allowance EPCOT can be fully enjoyed all within one day. The best way to view the park is to start in Innoventions East and work your way through the World Showcase and end the evening at Innoventions West. This will allow you to view the entire park capturing all there is to offer at EPCOT.

Must Sees Everything is a must in EPCOT but these are the things that should be viewed before your leave: . Voices of Liberty – an a cappella group that sings their renditions of the best-loved American music. This group also gets the kids involved by making them part of the act. . Living Seas – The largest man-made aquarium in the world. It is home to several ocean creatures including sharks and turtles. Maybe you will see Mickey diving to feed the fish.

Character Meet and Greets Come and meet your favorite characters at the Character Meet and Greets. Please check the Times Guide for the schedule of times, for these vary everyday. Character Meet and Greets can be found in the following locations: . Spaceship Earth . Showcase Plaza . Morocco . France . United Kingdom

Parades Although there are no parades within EPCOT, a must see are some of the shows that each country has on display. From the Chinese acrobats in China to the French Café sideshow in France, you will be able to see some local character without traveling to the country themselves. Fireworks The fireworks display at EPCOT is called Illuminations: Reflections of Earth and can be seen in the World Showcase Lagoon. There are many locations to view the fireworks display, but you will need to get there early. One of the best places to view the fireworks is in Britain at the Rose and Crown Pub. There they have an outdoor sitting are where you can relax and have an unobstructed view of the lake. Plan on getting here about 1.5 to 2 hours early for the best view.

Test Track A great fast-paced ride that take you through the General Motors testing center. The ride tests the engine acceleration, hairpin turns, braking and many more. This ride is very fast, 65 mph, so please hold on to your hats, sunglasses, and anything else that you may not want to lose.

Fast Pass Available? Yes Mission Space Hold on to your hats, this ride will be out of this world. You are part of a team of 4 leading this Mars space mission through take-off and landing on the red planet. You are pulled through 3 G’s upon take-off and once in space you get to experience weightlessness. This ride is not suggested for those who get nauseas from fast rotating movement.

Ride Type: Supper Thrill Ride

Maelstrom Maelstrom is a great ride for the whole family. Located in the Norway, this ride takes you through Nordic history aboard a small Viking ship.

Fast Pass Available? No Honey, I Shrunk the Audience A 3-D adventure where you are part of the audience at the inventor-of-the-year awards. Because of the 3-D effects small children may become scared. It is recommended that children over 6 attend this ride.

Electric Umbrella Location: Innoventions East Price: Reasonable Food: Fast food location where you can get anything from hamburgers, chicken fingers, salads and sandwiches. Most are reasonably priced for under $9.00 each. Beer can be bought by the glass and sodas are available.

Rose and Crown Location: Britain Price: Reasonable Food: Authentic English food such as the fish and chips can be bought for under $7.00. Full bar is available, English ale, and sodas are available also.

Boulangerie Pátisserie Location: France Price: Reasonable Food: Authentic French pastries and desserts that two can share. Cream filled pastries, fresh coffee, and quiches are the specialty when traveling to this tucked away dessert-lovers dream.

The Magic Kingdom is a wonderful place to explore the past and the present of America. Travel through the times of Huckleberry Finn to Buzz Lightyear exploring all that the past, the present, and the future has to offer.

A Mountain Range? .Walt Disney World is home to Florida's two highest "mountains!" In the Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain rises 197 feet above Frontierland. Space Mountain in Tomorrowland is 180 feet tall. Hidden Mickey’s Hidden Mickey’s are the hidden Mickey ear and face, usually shadowed, which are fun to find through out the mark. Some of the Hidden Mickey’s that can be seen at the Magic Kingdom are: . At the end of Main Street by Cinderella's Castle is a landscaped area where they have a statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. Around the base of the statue, there are flowers encircled by a rail. The shadow of the detail in the rail forms a hidden Mickey. You can see this hidden Mickey in the morning before noon. . At this same statue, there is a Mickey ring on Walt's hand. . The bridles on the Trolley Car horses on Main Street have a couple of Hidden Mickey’s.

Recommended Park Time Allowance Magic Kingdom can be fully enjoyed all within one day. The best way to view the park is to start in down Mainstreet and going through Adventureland and ending up in Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland is always the first place that most guests start with, so avoid the high-traffic areas by starting where everyone else ends.

Must Sees Everything is a must in the Magic Kingdom, but these are the things that should be viewed before your leave: . It’s a small world – a fantastic journey through the many nations that make up this world. And you can’t forget the song that made it all famous; it’s a world of laughter a world of tears… . Mickey’s Toontown Fair – enjoy a great miniature village of Mickey and Minnie’s home. This area is great for small children

Parades One of the most magical of all parades is SpectroMagic. It is a nighttime parade that lights up the Mainstreet area. Thousands of illuminating lights glow as the electric light parade moves through Mainstreet USA. Get there early though, a recommended 1.5 to 2 hours early for best viewing.

Share a Dream Come true is a fanciful nostalgic parade that travels through Mainstreet USA. A great Disney parade that incorporates fun floats and Mickey Mouse.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin This is an exciting interactive ride that takes you through an iridescent maze where you are shooting a laser gun at painted targets competing with others on the ride with you for the highest points. This is a great ride for small children because they can point and shoot the laser gun being the hero of the day.

Space Mountain A fast moving timeless ride that takes you in complete darkness up and down on a roller coaster track. This ride is great for those fast-paced thrill seekers.

Fast Pass Available? Yes Pirates of the Caribbean Yo Ho, Yo Ho a pirates life for me. Take a boat ride through the attraction that made it to the big screen. This ride is great for all ages; pirates come to life taking over a quiet town on the water.

Haunted Mansion Enjoy the thrills of being caught in a haunted 19th century mansion. The pre-show consists of a ghoulish voice informing you of what is to come when you board the ride for a scary trip through the mansion. This ride is not recommended for small children who scare easily because of the ghosts and ghouls that ride with you.

Big Thunder Mountain Jump aboard a runaway train as this roller coaster ride takes you through the caverns of the old west. Riders beware, because this is a runaway train, there is a lot of jolting movement.

Pecos Bill Café Location: Frontierland Price: Reasonable Food: Fast food location where you can get anything from hamburgers, chicken fingers, salads and sandwiches. Most are reasonably priced for under $9.00 each.

Main Street Bakery Location: Mainstreet Price: Reasonable Food: Pick up those wonderful cookies and pastries when you stay to watch the fireworks. What a great way to end an evening enjoying a warm cookie, large chocolaty fudge, or color lollypops.

Height of Fright - At 199 feet tall, The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror™ at the Disney- MGM Studios is the highest attraction at Walt Disney World Resort. It tops the Magic Kingdom's Cinderella Castle (185 feet), Epcot's Spaceship Earth (180 feet) and The Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom (145 feet). . What Big Ears You Have - The Earffel Tower, Disney-MGM Studios' water tower landmark, would wear a hat size of 342 ¾. . May 1, 1989: Disney-MGM Studios opens

Some of the Hidden Mickey’s that can be seen at Disney-MGM Studios are:  As you enter the lobby from the queue at Tower Of Terror, there are two doors opened that you go through to get into the lobby. Both doors have many square windows in them. On the left door (the one closest to the stand-by line), second row of windows from the top, and the window farthest right, there is a very, very tiny Mickey head "scraped" from the green stuff on the window. The Mickey is in the center of the window, not on the side.  At the Sunset Theatre, where Mickey Mouse takes pictures with guests, the doors right behind him have handles that when closed create a very obvious Mickey.

Recommended Park Time Allowance Disney-MGM Studios is a great park to go through when the days are too warm to stand outdoors. This park contains many shows and guest experiences that are indoors or in the shade. The open spaces allow for breezes to blow and keep you cool during the hot Florida days. This park will also have much to provide for those cooler evenings as well.

Parades Disney Stars and Motorcar parade is a character packed parade sure to please the whole family. Luke Skywalker, Ariel, Mickey, and friends travel Hollywood Blvd. In 15 cars and 3 motorcycles.

Fireworks Disney-MGM Studios does not have a fireworks display, instead they treat their guests to a fantastic fireworks display called Fantasmic. You can find plenty of seating at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater for this display of sorcery straight out of Fantasia. Be aware though, this display has very loud explosions and evil characters that small children may find too intense.

Hidden Mickey’s Hidden Mickey’s are the hidden Mickey ear and face, usually shadowed, which are fun to find through out the mark. They will often look similar to this when seen throughout the parks oOo. Look for extras on your own or ask a Cast Member to see if they will share the secret of the Hidden Mickey.

Some of the Hidden Mickey’s that can be seen at Animal Kingdom are:  There is a hidden Mickey on the main path around the park by one the restrooms. It is located right outside of the women's restroom that is past the Pizzafari. There is a frog statue with a number of circles and curves carved into it. One is clearly a Mickey.  When you go on the Discovery Riverboats in the Safari Village, Discovery Island. On the 2nd bridge that you go through. On the right-handed side (the bridge going to Camp Minnie-Mickey) is a Mickey head with fancy borders around imprinted on a big log.  On the bridge to Camp Minnie Mickey there are a bunch of totem poles, if you look at the pole farthest to your left there is a sculpture of a shark on it with 2 Mickey heads on the shark pretty easy to see and no other similar shapes on any of the other totem poles.

Recommended Park Time Allowance Animal Kingdom is a great place to visit to see some magnificent animals that you may not see everyday. This is a great park to see early in the morning or later in the afternoon. This is the time the animals are most active. You may want to avoid Animal Kingdom in the heat of the day because it can be extremely warm.

Parades Mickey’s Jammin Jungle Parade is a fantastic parade where you can see Mickey and his friends travel the street around Discovery Island in safari vehicles. The parade route goes around Discovery Island where the Tree of Life is located. Have a seat anywhere along the parade route, but get there early, about an hour, to get the best seats.

Fireworks There currently are not fireworks at the Animal Kingdom because of the animals, but visit one of the other parks on your Park Hopper pass for a fantastic display.

It’s Tough to be a Bug This is a fun guest interactive attraction that takes you through the tough life of a bug. The bugs are all from It’s a Bugs Life movie and include Flick the host of the show. But beware, the stink bug will leave you gasping for air.
