Activities

1. Draw a picture of you and your friends sticking their tongues out. Don't forget to label everyone!

2. Pretend you are Amy or Richard. Write an apology letter to the little girl telling her that you are sorry for telling her to stick her tongue out.

3. Imagine you are the teacher of this class. Write about what you would teach the children about manners, how sticking your tongue out in a class picture isn't nice to do.

4. Write the word "Photographer" at the top of a page in your opus. Now try to come up with as many words as you can!

Introduction

1. Write the word "embarrassment" on a piece of paper. Ask them if they know what it means. Discuss it's meaning, and talk about ways a person could get embarrassed. Say, "Today's book is about a little girl that gets embarrassed because of her class pic- ture. We'll read and find out why she feels this way."

2. Have the word "Photographer" written on a piece of paper. Ask them if they know what it means. Have they ever seen one? "Today's story we will read about how a photographer takes a school class picture, but that something is very different with this picture!"

3. Show the children the front of this book. Ask them what it is. Has anyone ever acted goofy in any of your class pictures? What did they do? "Today we are going to read a book about how a class picture turns out when someone acts goofy."
