VA MEDICAL CENTER TO JOIN FOOD BANK PROJECT IN “FEDS FEED FAMILIES”

The Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center (JCMVAMC) and its outpatient clinics in Tulsa, Hartshorne and Vinita will be collecting food donations from June 1 – August 31 in a nationwide effort to feed the hungry as part of Feds Feed Families.

All federal agencies are being asked to donate 2 million pounds of food this summer to help families in need. Last year, the medical center collected 1,400 pounds. The community can join the VA by donating any of the following items and bringing to one of our locations listed below.

Items needed are: • Canned Protein (tuna, chicken, salmon, peanut butter) • Canned Vegetables (mixed, green beans, corn) • Canned Fruit (applesauce, peaches, pears, pineapple) • Soups (beef stew, chili, chicken noodle, turkey rice) • Multigrain Cereal (cheerios, cornflakes, grape nuts, raisin bran) • Grains (macaroni & cheese, pasta, rice) • 100% Fruit Juice (all sizes including juice boxes) • Snacks (raisins, dried fruit, nuts, cereal bars) • Condiments (Ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, oils) • Hygiene Items (diapers, deodorant, toilet paper, tissues, soap, toothpaste, shampoo) -more- FEDS FEED FAMILIES 2-2-2

• Paper Products & Household Items (paper towels, napkins, cleaning supplies)
