Welcome! Since 1972, teachers have been bringing students to Warren Park Outdoor Education Centre to experience the sights and sounds of the Humber River Valley, first hand. All programs are specifically designed to meet curriculum expectations and to enrich your classroom experience. We can adapt, or modify program to best meet your needs and the needs of your students, just ask. Students will have opportunities to discover and experience the fascinating world of nature, as well as develop an awareness of and respect for the environment.

Please become familiar with the following information to facilitate a mutually rewarding experience for both students and teachers alike.

Fees are payable through a Journal Entry within a few days of your visit. Warren Park will invoice your school Office Administrator directly. Please give all money collected to your Office Administrator. We are unable to accept cash or cheques.

Transportation: Buses will be arranged and paid for by Warren Park O.E.C. As the buses are booked in September, please inform the Centre immediately of any changes to your scheduled visit. Due to transportation limitations, we can only offer full day visits. Pick up time for each school is 9:00 a.m. and buses leave Warren Park O.E.C. at 2:00 p.m. There are 24 seats on the bus. Primary students may sit 3 students to a seat; all others sit 2 to a seat.

Student Responsibilities:  As guests at Warren Park O.E.C., students are expected to show respect for themselves, others, and their environment, both indoors and outdoors.  For safety and comfort reasons, students must wear suitable clothing and footwear (close-toed shoes) for outdoor activities. Students are asked also to bring a pair of indoor shoes. No gum chewing.  All students are expected to bring a waste free lunch. Students will be eating outside at the park or in a classroom.

Teacher Responsibilities:  Please go over what to wear and bring with your class, as well as, ideas for making a waste free lunch.  Lunch at Warren Park O.E.C. is from approximately 11:30 am-12:00 pm, followed by an indoor or outdoor play period until 12:30 p.m. The classroom teacher supervises the students during the lunch hour. The classroom displays and books are accessible to students. Please bring additional equipment and activities if necessary.  If the classroom teacher is absent, a teacher who knows the students, vice-principal, or principal must accompany students from the visiting school. If this cannot be arranged, the Warren Park O.E.C. visit will be cancelled or rescheduled (if possible.)  Classroom teachers are encouraged to be active participants throughout the program. We hope to provide an environment and inspiration for staff development of future outdoor educational experiences.
