Parker Releases New Edition of Sizing & Selection Tools CD
Improvements to free sizing software include expanded motor and drive options Rohnert Park, California, November 30, 200 — Parker’s Electromechanical Automation Division is pleased to announce that a new edition of its popular engineering tool Motion Sizer™ is now available as a free CD or download
Choosing the correct motor-and-drive combination is one of the most complicated steps in specifying a new motion application; complex systems may require many hours of tedious sizing calculations. Parker’s new generation of computer-aided motor sizing provides solutions within moments, giving engineers the right selection for their application. The new CD includes the following programs:
•Motion Sizer with new filtering capabilities to make it even easier for users to select a motor and drive. This software allows engineers to model their system mechanics, simulate complex motion profiles, specify amplifier voltage limits and then filter the results to quickly choose from thousands of motor and drive combinations.
•WinTips - Parker Trilogy linear motor sizing software, enabling users to quickly size their linear motor application with the WinTips software. WinTips allows users to evaluate different load and motion profile scenarios to determine their effect on motor heating. WinTips also predicts amplifier current and voltage requirements to help with the selection of a compatible amplifier.
•Linear Sizing and Selection Tool - Parker Daedal linear motor sizing software. Users select their level of integration with either component solutions or pre-engineered linear servo tables. The software includes iron-core, air-core, and slotless linear motor technologies.
•System Solution Finder - Parker Controller, drive, motor and cable compatibility and selection software. Quickly and easily define all the necessary part numbers to specify a motion controller, drive and motor system. The Parker System Solution Finder quickly defines the part numbers for the major components, interconnecting cables and accessories required to put a system together, reducing errors and ensuring all the chosen components are compatible.
