We Must Protect Our House

Sermon by: Pastor Kevin L. Hammond

Key Scripture: Matthew 12:25-29 25And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? 27And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. 28But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

Scripture References: Ephesians 4:5-6

The scripture mentions desolation. Desolation means ruin, dreariness; barrenness, misery or emptiness. What do you do to combat desolation? We have to remain united.

Don’t you know worship is violent. It’s your weapon! Think about this thing, David and Joshua were worshippers and they were violent.

Ziglag was plundered because David and his men left the camp unprotected. What are we leaving uncovered in our lives?

There are three houses that you must protect: Spiritual House – Where we live by the biblical standards that God has placed before us.

Church House - Where members of the church must be on their post

Natural House - These are tangible things in your physical house. There has to be proper stewardship. We have to be responsible.

You have to protect the sanctity( pureness/holiness), sanity (inner pace) , stability (balance) of your house. To do that ,first, you have to know who you are. (YOU are the STRONG MAN).

This is NOT Ziklag, it’s Zion!
