[3624] 2 1 2 Whereas, as an outgrowth of the Scout Movement in England and 3 with the endorsement of the Chief Scout of the World, Lord 4 BadenPowell, the Boy Scouts of America was formed in 1910, and 5 for a century it has shaped future leaders of America by combining 6 educational activities with lifelong values and fun; and 7 8 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of 9 Representatives are grateful for the legacy of Scouting in America 10 and take great pride in acknowledging the achievements of young 11 South Carolinians like Jacob Allen Goddard who selflessly give of 12 their time, talents, and energy to enrich their local communities 13 and our State. Now, therefore, 14 15 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 16 17 That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of 18 South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate Jacob Allen 19 Goddard of Cheraw for his remarkable accomplishments in the 20 Boy Scouts of America and salute him upon achieving the 21 celebrated rank of Eagle Scout, the highest award in Scouting. 22 23 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 24 Jacob Allen Goddard. 25 XX 26
