What an honor and privilege it was to judge the GGPWCF’s 50th Anniversary Specialty! I want to thank the club for inviting me to judge this very important specialty. What an outstanding entry I had in numbers and in quality. I had many fabulous corgis to choose from in both the dog and bitch classes. I am really looking forward to seeing the young male dogs mature. The depth of quality in the bitch classes was outstanding. I wish I had had more than four ribbons to give out in many classes. When my final line up for Best In Sweepstakes entered the ring, I was so pleased. Any one of them could have won Best In Sweepstakes, and I would have been happy. Then the Veterans entered the ring. What outstanding specimens they were and what show-offs they were, too! Placing the veterans was my most difficult assignment of the day, they were all wonderful. I must thank my fabulous ring steward, Paulett Delong who kept me in line, and of course the show chair, Vicki Lubarsky and her committee members who worked so hard to make this specialty special. I will always treasure the gift I received with the painting of one of my most beloved corgis on it. I will always remember this day and what an honor it was to judge your dogs. PUPPY DOGS, 6-9 MONTHS (4 entered, 1 absent) 1. GREENWOODS FAME AND FORTUNE (Ch. Heartsong Brynlea Pavarotti x Ch. Sandfox Destiny) Breeders: Vicki Sandage & Deidre Rodgers. Owners: Deidre Rodgers, Mary Greenwood & Vicki Sandage. A solid red and white puppy with a lovely outline and beautiful headpiece with a nice long neck leading into a well angulated shoulder, dead level topline, and well angulated rear. Good bone and feet. He had a lovely free flowing side gait and was clean coming and going. Presented beautifully. BEST OPPOSITE SEX TO BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES. 2. VERILO CAMBRIDGE (Ch. Nebriowa Cole Haan x Ch. Shanteroo April Love) Breeders/Owners: Debra Oliver & Sheila Broderick. Tricolor puppy with a nice headpiece and nice long neck leading to a very nicely angulated shoulder. I would prefer more length of body, and he was a little high on leg. Would prefer more rear angulation. He did have a nice side gait, but because he was very unsettled, I could not evaluate his gait coming and going. Topline not level on the day. 3. VERILO SCARSDALE (Ch. Nebriowa Cole Haan x Ch. Shanteroo April Love) Breeders/Owners: Debra Oliver & Sheila Broderick. Red and white puppy with a lovely headpiece, just slightly long in the muzzle. Has a nice neck but shoulder angulation was more upright. I would prefer more length of body and topline was roached on the day. Nice side gait.

PUPPY DOGS, 9-12 MONTHS (5 entered, 1 absent) 1. PINEMEADE FOOL PROOF (Ch. Caamora Saddle Lane Remy Martin x Ch. Sandyshire’s Phoebe) Breeder: Terry Hansen. Owner: Jan Sheets. Red and white puppy well up to size with an attractive headpiece. Nice long neck and very nice outline with nice of length of body and long rib cage. Slightly high on leg. Has moderate shoulder angulation and good rear angulation. Fabulous dead level topline which he held on the move. Presented impeccably. Good side gait and clean coming and going. 2. PINEMEADE FOOL’S GOLD (Ch. Caamora Saddle Lane Remy Martin x Ch. Sandyshire’s Phoebe) Breeder: Terry Hansen. Owners: Theresa Esperance & Terry Hansen. Red and white puppy with a beautiful outline. Nice headpiece with a long neck leading into a very well angulated shoulder, level topline and good rear angulation. Lower to the ground than the one before. Small feet. Slightly unsettled at first, not moving as well, did not have much rear drive. Clean coming and going. 3. HIGHGROVE WAKEFIELD ELTON JON (Rosewood Set Sail x Salvenik Secret Is Out) Breeders/Owners: Peggy Kessler & Barbara Hughes. Red and white puppy with a beautiful headpiece and nice neck. Moderate length of body, would prefer more front and rear angulation. Was not clean going away. 4. ROSEWOOD BRIGANTINE (Ch. Twinan Another Chance For Salvenik x Ch. Rosewood Breeze’N By) Breeder/Owner: Liisa Coit. Tricolor puppy with beautiful headpiece, a slightly short neck, but a nice outline with a very level topline. Good front angulation but would prefer more rear angulation. Good bone. Unfortunately he did not hold topline on the move.

12-15 MONTHS DOGS (4 entered, 1 absent) 1. HIGHGROVE DR. PHIL (Ch. Carolee’s Mr. Postman x Ch. Salvenik Starshine) Breeder: Barbara Hughes. Owners: Barbara Hughes & Carol Barlick. Red and white with nice masculine headpiece. Would prefer more length and better angulation, but he had a nice level topline, good bone and had a good side gait. He was clean coming and going. 2. BIRTWISTLE WADA’S MEMORY (Shonleh Otis Redding x Birtwistle Sweet Daphne) Breeder/Owner: Nancy Handgraaf. Tricolor dog with a strong but masculine headpiece, nice outline with good length of body, but high on leg. Did not have much angulation of the shoulder or stifle but did have a nice side gait and was clean coming and going. 3. MAPLECREEK SUPER FLY (Ch. Aberlee Bransby x Maplecreek Playtime) Breeders/Owners: Mindy Holmes & Patricia Bittles. Beautiful red and white dog with a lovely headpiece and outline, nice and low to the ground. Moderate shoulder angulation with excellent rear angulation. Nice long ribcage and level topline. Unfortunately not clean going away, hopping in the grass, which cost him a better placement.

15-18 MONTHS DOGS (2 entered, 0 absent) 1. DANSEN KINETIC ENERGY (Ch. Byendebrok Maplecreek Baccarat, CD HSAs MX AXJ x Dansen Southern Charm) Breeders/Owners: Gloria & Gary Danielsen & David Lewis. What a beautiful red and white dog! Attractive headpiece, although forehead slightly domed. Nice long neck blending into a very well angulated shoulder, nice long ribcage, level topline and well angulated rear. Beautiful side gait with good reach and drive, but very close going away. Would prefer more bone. Pushed hard for Best Opposite. 2. MARYMEADS ROBERT DE BRUS AT CRYSMONT (Ch. Ninacorte Braveheart x Marymeads Strip The Willow) Breeders/Owners: Deborah Blais & Betty Ribble. Another lovely tricolor dog that had the misfortune to be in the same class as the one above. Beautiful headpiece, long neck, lovely outline with excellent length of body, dead level topline. I could only fault him on his more upright shoulder angulation. Lovely sidegait and clean coming and going.

PUPPY BITCHES 6-9 MONTHS (14 entered, 5 absent) 1. SANDFOX PRELUDE (Ch. Heartsong Brynlea Pavarotti x Ch. Sandfox Destiny) Breeders: Vicki Sandage & Deidre Rodgers. Owners: Vicki Sandage, Deidre Rodgers & Mary Greenwood. Lovely sable bitch with a beautiful headpiece, long neck, superb angulation of the shoulder and stifle. Dead level topline which she held on the move. Lovely, elegant ground covering sidegait. She started out a bit unsettled but improved as the class went on, which earned her this first placement in this class full of quality bitches. 2. WYEWURY SWEET THING (Ch.Tallyrand Halo Chaser x Ch. Wyewury Sweet Tibby Dunbar) Breeder/Owners: R. Gregg, T. Davis, D. & G. Harding. Another lovely puppy. Red and white bitch with a very beautiful headpiece, good outline, although a bit high on leg. Moderate shoulder angulation, very nice stifle angulation. Slightly high in the rear at the moment. Lovely sidegait, good reach and drive. Clean coming and going. 3. LARKLAIN CALS JUST A DOLL (Ch. Triple H Cal Ripken x Ch. Larklain Markers Little Jedda) Breeder/Owner: Carol E. Swinney. Gorgeous red and white bitch who caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring. Lovely headpiece, long neck, just the outline I was looking for with the correct length of body and long ribcage, good angulation front and rear. Level topline which she held on the move. Lovely, elegant sidegait with good reach and drive. Alas, she was wide in front and wide coming. Would also prefer more bone. 4. WESTRIDGE VIVA LA VIDA (Ch. Tallyrand Halo Chaser x Ch. Wyewury Sweet Tibby Dunbar) Breeders: R. Gregg, T. Davis, D & G. Harding. Owners: D. & G. Harding, R. Gregg, T. Davis. Another lovely red and white bitch with a plainer headpiece, good outline and length with moderate angulation. She is also a bit high in the rear at the moment, but had a lovely sidegait and was clean coming and going.

PUPPY BITCHES 9-12 MONTHS (9 entered, 1 absent) 1. TRIAD FLIGHT OF THE RAVEN (Triad Romantic Heart x Triad Feather Flight) Breeders: Patty Gailey & Robin Lindy. Owner: Patty Gailey. Lovely tricolor bitch with a gorgeous headpiece although she had weak ears at times. Suberb outline with proper length of body, long ribcage, excellent shoulder and stifle angulation and level topline. Beautiful, flowing sidegait, clean coming, but a bit close going away. 2. ROSEWOOD SEA SHELL (Ch. Twinan Another Chance For Salvenik x Ch. Rosewood Breeze’N By) Breeder/Owner: Liisa Coit. Lovely red and white bitch with a pleasing headpiece. Would prefer more length of body, but she had superb shoulder and stifle angulation and a dead level topline. Wonderful sidegait with good reach and drive. Clean coming and going. Good bone. 3. PINEMEADE MAKING MEMORIES (Ch. Pinemeade English Leather x Ch. Pinemeade Gillian) Breeder/Owner: Terry Hansen. Red and white bitch with a lovely headpiece and nice big ears. Long neck leading into a well angulated shoulder, nice length of body and nice rear angulation. A bit high on leg. Stands slightly close in front. Beautiful sidegait, drops off at the croup a bit. 4. LINDFOX TRENGATE YOU WISH (Rosewood Set Sail x Ch. Trengate Three Wishes) Breeders/Owners: Nissa Lindstrom & Sylvia Nolan. Red and white bitch with a beautiful headpiece. A moderate bitch with moderate length and angulation. Caught my eye with her beautiful sidegait. Clean coming and going.

Red and white bitch with a slightly masculine headpiece, but what an outstanding body. Nice neck leading into a superbly angulated shoulder, nice length of body, strong topline and superb rear angulation. Good bone. Beautiful sidegait with good reach and drive, moves with purpose. Very clean coming and going. 2. FOXLAIR WHAT ABOUT ME (Ch. Pinemeade English Leather x Foxlair Its All About Me) Breeders: Dana J. Allen & Shannon L. Stone. Owners: Timothy R. Aamodt & Shannon L. Stone. Red and white bitch with a beautiful headpiece, nice outline with good length of body, good front and rear angulation and level topline. Would prefer more bone. Did not have the reach and drive as one before and was wide going away. 3. CRYSMONT MAGDALENA (Ch.Ninacorte Braveheart x Crysmont Honey of Marymead) Breeders: Deborah Blais, Russell Barlowe & Elaine Duarte. Owners: Deborah Blais & Sybil Smith. Red and white bitch with a beautiful headpiece and outline. Good sidegait and topline fairly level. Would prefer a longer neck and more shoulder angulation. Rear angulation good. 4. BIRTWISTLE CAERHAY’S BELLE (Shonleh Otis Redding x Birtwistle Sweet Daphne) Breeder/Owner: Nancy Handgraaf. Tricolor bitch with a masculine headpiece. Nice length of body and good sidegait with good reach and drive. High on leg. Would prefer more shoulder and stifle angulation. Good bone.

Byendebrok Maplecreek Baccarat, CD HSAs MX AXJ x Dansen Southern Charm) Breeders/Owners: Gloria & Gary Danielson & David Lewis. An exquisite tricolor bitch that never stopped showing. She had a beautiful headpiece and a long neck leading into a superbly angulated shoulder and excellent front assembly. Her outline was just what I was looking for, long and low, with a nice long ribcage and a dead level topline that never wavered. Her rear angulation was excellent and her croup was level. She had an elegant sidegait with beautiful reach and drive that just took my breath away. I was pleased to award her BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES. 2. HERONSWAY MILESTONE SPINNAKER (Ch. Milestone Regatta x Ch. Heronsway Send In The Clowns) Breeders/Owners: Anne H. Bowes & Donna M. Gilbert. Another lovely red and white bitch who had the misfortune to be in the same class as the one above. Headpiece a bit plainer, but she also had a nice neck, gorgeous outline and superb angulations front and rear, a dead level topline, and good bone. Her side gait was also beautiful to watch with good reach and drive. Clean coming and going. 3. NEBRIOWA JUST MY STYLE (Ch. Nebriowa G. Clooney x Brnayr Autumn Moon) Breeders: Tim Mathiesen & Tomm Dedini. Owners: Sharon Berry & Tim Mathiesen. Red and white bitch with an attractive headpiece, nice long neck leading into a superbly angulated shoulder and excellent front assembly. Very nice outline, nice length of body, nice long ribcage and very good stifle angulation. Another bitch with a lovely side gait, topline fell off a bit at the croup on the move. 4. ZEPHYR’S ABRA-CADABRA (Ch. Pemcader Belroyd Zodiac x Nebriowa Ribbons and Lace) Breeders: Judith Neuhaus & Laurie Giem. Owner: Judith Neuhaus. Tricolor bitch with a pleasing headpiece, slightly long in the muzzle. Very nice outline, nice length of body and long ribcage. Would prefer more angulation in front, but had a lovely sidegait with good reach and drive. Clean coming and going.

Red and white dog with a masculine headpiece, slightly long in muzzle. Good outline, level topline, good strong movement. Clean coming and going. Really loved to show. Gave the one above a run for his money.

Tricolor dog with masculine headpiece but kind expression. Very nice outline with long length of body, low to the ground, very nice shoulder and stifle angulations. Level topline, excellent sidegait, good bone, and clean coming and going. Would prefer a longer neck. I was pleased to award him BEST OPPOSITE SEX TO BEST IN VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES.

Red and white dog with a beautiful headpiece and expression, wonderful outline, superb angulations front and rear. Nice level topline for a dog his age. Movement quite nice for a dog his age as well.

Stunning red and white bitch who is still going strong as a veteran. Outstanding outline and structure. Superb angulations, length, dead level topline. She had a ground covering sidegait that was just a joy to watch. I was pleased to award her BEST IN VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES. 2. CH. NEBRIOWA VERACITY (Ch. Nebriowa Triple Play x Ch. Belroyd Dovekie) Breeder/Owner: Thomas Mathiesen. Red and white bitch with a gorgeous headpiece and expression. She also had a superb outline, topline and angulations. She did not have the movement of the one above, not as energetic today, perhaps feeling the heat.

Another lovely red and white bitch with a nice headpiece and a beautiful outline and angulations. Good mover. Topline not as level as those before. Quite a showgirl. 4. Lovely red and white bitch with superb angulations front and rear. Not as long in body as the others, but a fabulous mover and wonderful showgirl.
