Riding Changes / Jockey Information Race Horse Rider Replaced by Reason 1 Flying Dami D Pires Emergency gained a start

RACE 1 – MCCRIMMON INSURANCE 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1200 METRES

Lampo broke free from its strapper in the mounting yard prior to the race before being re-captured.

Anthony Darmanin rider of Just Run was harmlessly dislodged after leaving the mounting yard.

Just Run jumped away awkwardly and hampered Imoro.

Livermore raced wide throughout.

Passing the 600 metres Flying Dami was taken in slightly by Kipsang (Chantal Willis) which after initially shifting in slightly away from Lampo then shifted in further towards Flying Dami before being corrected. The tightening resulted in Flying Dami contacting the running rail and becoming severely unbalanced and losing ground. When assessing this incident, Stewards took into account that Chantal Willis attempted to correct her mount when it commenced to shift in and given that it was having its first start did not believe she was fully culpable for this incident. Mount Nevis which was following was checked as a consequence of this interference.

Mehmet Ulucinar rider of Imoro was severely reprimanded under AR 137A(4)(c) for using his whip when out of contention.

RACE 2 – AWM ELECTRICAL 3YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200 METRES

Shortly after the start So Vain and Visscher were hampered when tightened for room by Vivre Triomphe which shifted out.

Dom Tourneur rider of Vivre Triomphe was found guilty of a charge under AR 137(a) careless riding the particulars being that passing the 1000 metres he permitted his mount to shift ground inwards when insufficiently clear of So Vain resulting in that mare being severely checked. Stewards deemed the interference and carelessness to be of a mid level. Dom Tourneur’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 2 Tasmanian race meetings commencing at midnight 6 December 2014 and to expire at midnight 10 December 2014.

Hayley McCarthy rider of Fracassare accidentally dropped her whip near the 600 metres.

For the majority of the race Well I Wonder hung out and rounding the home turn the gelding continued to hang and inconvenienced Vivre Triomphe and Visscher.

In the home straight Jilly Babe displayed a tendency to lay in under pressure.

David Pires rider of Jilly Babe reported that the mare raced greenly in the early and middle stages. Subsequent to the race it was reported that Well I Wonder lost an off hind plate in running.

RACE 3 – CUCCINA CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1200 METRES

Prior to the start of the race Kerrie McCarthy trainer of Grey Hype advised Stewards that it was connections intention to have the gelding ridden more forwards from its inside barrier tonight. This change of tactic was disseminated via social media and the on course broadcaster.

Baumgartner was slow to begin (1L).

Shortly after the start Mygreyhorse shifted out and took Full Magnum out onto Miss Holyfield which was checked. Baumgartner which was racing to the outside of that mare’s heels was also checked.

In the early stages The Stockman got its head up when over racing.

Gotta Have Vibe raced wide throughout.

From the 600 metres until early in the home straight Mygreyhorse hung out.

Yassy Nishitani rider of Mygreyhorse which performed below expectations could offer no explanation other than the gelding failed to respond to his riding from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

Casey Bruce rider of The Stockman was reprimanded under AR 137A(4)(c) for using her whip when out of contention.

RACE 4 – A J WATER AND LEAK DETECTION BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP - 1600 METRES

On jumping away Great White was restrained to avoid the heels of Finalargee. The tightening was aggravated due to Mister Baldock also shifting outwards.

When the pace slackened near the 1200 metres Finalargee got its head up when being restrained and raced greenly for a short distance.

Moonless raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 200 metres Finalargee had difficulty obtaining a clear run.

A post-race veterinary examination of Moonless which raced wide revealed no apparent abnormalities.

RACE 5 – KEVIN SHARKIE NEWMARKET HANDICAP - 1200 METRES

Jockey M Walker was granted permission to ride Minute Repeater ½ kilo over the allotted weight (54kg).

Iggimacool was slow into stride.

On jumping away Rebel Bride jumped outwards and made heavy contact with Hellova Street which shifted in resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.

Shortly after, Hellova Street continued to shift in and hampered Rebel Bride. Rebel Bride then shifted out and brushed Hellova Street resulting in both becoming slightly unbalanced.

Approaching the 1000 metres Sh’Bourne Spirit (Dom Tourneur) shifted in when not clear of Hellova Street which shifted in and brushed Rebel Bride. Dom Tourneur was reminded of his obligations to ensure he is clear of other runners when allowing his mount to shift ground.

In the early part of the straight Isibaeva had difficulty obtaining a clear run.

Corey Parish rider of Jakcorijim accidentally dropped his whip near the 200 metres. Approaching the 200 metres Minute Repeater (Michael Walker) attempted a run where there was insufficient room between Pitt Street and Havana Stash which was taken out slightly by Isibaeva this resulted in Minute Repeater contacting Pitt Street which became unbalanced and was taken out off its course. After taking into account the circumstances Michael Walker was notified to ensure there is a full run when in similar circumstances.

Over the last 100 metres Banca Mo had some difficulty obtaining a clear run due to it laying in slightly.

Joshua Parr rider of Innocent Gamble which performed below expectations explained that the gelding travelled well during the middle stages but failed to respond to his riding in the home straight.

A post-race veterinary examination of Pitt Street revealed the gelding to be lame. Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be submitted prior to Pitt Street racing again.

RACE 6 – MCCRIMMON INSURANCE BENCHMARK 82 HANDICAP - 1200 METRES

Quest Master was not shown in the race book as wearing a visor when it is approved to wear that gear.

Bulent Muhcu rider of Private Currency explained that the gelding was slow to muster early speed.

In the early and middle stages Bundaleda over-raced.

Bundaleda made the home turn awkwardly.

Approaching the 100 metres Bundaleda hung in under pressure and continued to lay in for the remainder of the race.

Michael Walker rider of Clan McLeod reported that he felt there was something amiss with the mare’s action. A post-race veterinary examination of Clan McLeod revealed it was displaying a poor recovery rate.

RACE 7 – CAREY DISTRIBUTION MAIDEN/CLASS 1 PLATE – 2100 METRES

Setoni and Wunghnu were both slow to begin (1L).

RACE 8 – RETRO REWIND CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1400 METRES

After being loaded into the barrier stalls Rozzie Roo became fractious and kicked out. After being removed and undergoing a veterinary examination Rozzie Roo was declared a late scratching at 10.29 pm acting on veterinary advice. Prior to the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on Rozzie Roo to be refunded in full. All bets made prior to 10.29 pm were to be paid less twenty five cents in the dollar on the face value of the win ticket and twenty four cents in the dollar on the value of the place ticket. Trainer H Patterson was advised that she must submit a veterinary certificate prior to Rozzie Roo racing again.

Himation jumped outwards and hampered Downwind.

Shortly after the start Sir Joey threw its head in the air resulting in Jamie Bayliss rider of the gelding becoming unbalanced.

Near the 300 metres Downwind was inconvenienced when Himation shifted in slightly.
