Indian Creek Dr.  Clarkston, GA 30021  404/297-9522 Ext. 1190  FAX# 404/298-3601 POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT POSITION: PHLEBOTOMY TECHNOLOGY ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR PRIMARY LOCATION: South DeKalb/DeKalb Campuses DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, provides instruction to students in the Phlebotomy Technology courses. ESSENTIAL JOB Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques; use of appropriate testing and RESPONSIBILITIES: grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other record-keeping required; effective use of oral and written communication skills; and knowledge of current in- field procedures. Follows approved course syllabus. Maintains program requirements; attends/completes all professional development training; meets with students and college personnel to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues. Evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives. Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Position will involve supervising students and teaching classes and labs at various time of the day and online classes as needed. The position may also require travel to any of the satellite locations within the college’s service area. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or GED • Current Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician by a nationally recognized organization (e.g.: ASCP, AMT, ASPT, NCCT) • Two years paid full-time experience in a CLIA regulated clinical laboratory in the last 5 years • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Basic computer skills • Experience in evaluating personnel performance and skills levels

PREFERRED • Associate’s degree in a Health Technology program from a regionally accredited QUALIFICATIONS: college or institution • CPR Instructor License in BLS HeartSaver • Teaching experience in a postsecondary level SALARY/BENEFITS: The salary range per course is from $1380.00 to $1725.00 and is dependent on field and credentials for all Adjunct Faculty postings. Adjunct Faculty are temporary positions, scheduled based on class needs of the college. Adjunct Faculty will generally sign assignment acknowledgements which cover a single term at a time, and employment is not guaranteed. Adjunct faculty members do not received benefits and are scheduled as needed. Adjunct Faculty Work on a per-term basis, therefore future courses are not assured.
