Board Minutes July 21, 2006

There needs to be a letter from the regional presidents by September 15, 2006 to send in a newsletter.
There will be a mail out in October for the winter conference in Kerrville.
Nancy Gresham will be our contact for Chiefs, Sherriff’s and city officials and will invite them to the area conferences.
The next board meeting will meet in Kerrville Nov. 17, 2006 at the YO Ranch Hotel.
The By-Law committee will need to have proposed changes to the TCPA board 90 days before the conference and 45 days before the conference to the regions.
Scott Rhodes will take over merchandise sales from Army Gamboa. Martha Mabry suggested that TCPA sell the leather binders again. The board signed a resolution that the Region of North Texas wishes to verify its claim of Tarrant, Denton and Cooke counties being within its territorial boundary. The admittance of the Region of Texas Chisholm Trail into the association did not include a sanction to the said counties. The parent region never released Tarrant, Denton and Cooke counties. The region of North Texas is seeking relief from the Board of Directors for the encroachment by the Region of Texas Chisholm Trail. It is realized that growth cannot be harmoniously obtained through a joint claim to said counties. The Board of Directors affirms the claim by the Region of North Texas that Tarrant, Denton and Cooke Counties lay within its territorial boundaries and recognizes the fact that persistent and unwelcome incursion by one Region into another is detrimental to the well being of the association. The resolution was signed by President Jon Matherne, 1st VP Nancy Gresham, 2nd VP Dennis Porter, Treasurer Armando Gamboa, 3rd VP April Layton, Membership- Martha Mabry and Secretary Lita Snellgrove
The current By-Laws do not allow for dual membership. A member is listed with one region on the state membership roster. A member can vote only in one region.
There was a suggestion that the Glenn Connors and Louise Bocock awards be $1000; if given twice a year that would be $2000 from the scholarship fund. There will be more discussion at a later date.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:25 am.
