On February 7, 2012 at approximately 12:20am, officers of the Edenton Police Department responded to Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton to a reported stabbing.
Investigation revealed the stabbing occurred at 807 Cabarrus Street, Edenton NC. The victim, 35 year old Derrick Molek Parker was stabbed multiple times in the legs, arms and abdomen.
Multiple witnesses identified 21 year old Dominic Duron Gay of 106 E. Carteret Street who was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and placed in the Chowan County Jail under a $40,000 secured bond. His first appearance is set for February 7, 2012 in Chowan County District Court.
The victim was transported to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville NC for treatment and is reported in fair condition.
